To the OP: Your an idiot. Well first things first, way to give valid reasons WHY your not subbing, and WHY you think that it will fail, and HOW they lied to you... Second thing, you haven't responded to defend your so called 'argument' so you basically just wanted to start a flaming contest. Well done, all of your posts that I read from now on will be disregarded. See ya! Speaking of the community, there are 2 sides... Pro / Con. all the cons say "Boo, bugs, game sucks" while the pros say "No, the game is actually really fun".. maybe there are a couple people in between but either way.... NO ONE (and if there is someone, they're dumb) has taken ANY pro/con posts into care beyond that thread.... If a million told me the game sucked, I wouldn't just change my entire view of the game You guys have to realize, whether your defending or attacking the game... No one is replying except to agree or simply disagree, and no one is crossing over the line. Its a stalemate, get over it everyone. |

Originally posted by devacoreWait, let me get thise straight. When people start working and paying their own bills, they suddenly don't care about what they buy with their hard earned money? Ok, little child, you have this all backwards. The people who work cherish their money and want quality goods for the money they spend. Little jobless kids don[t care about anything unless they are comparing to other games. What they get is free, and they spend their time playing the hell out of a game and uses ever bug to their advantage to become top tier. We paying adults also work to reach top tier but we want quality products. -When we see Direct X 10 on the damn box we expect Direct x 10 because we spent money to build our computers to handle this damn game. -When we preorder and were told we get Early Access, we expect that; not a CHANCE for early access. We were told we would get it and we wanted it. -When the game says epic skill based PvP, using a new combat system; we want that. We don't want a gimpled combo system that hinders PvP while an overpowered archer point blank shoots us with his easy mode arrows or priest 1 hit kill us with nukes that are more powerful than a mages. Where does the skill come in when trying to fight this crap? -When I'm told that all I need is a 2 gigs of ram, duo core proccessor, and a 8800 vid card to run the game at high settings smoothly, I expect that. Right now I run at the lowest settings and it is still choppy. with a record 12fps. The worst part is the game runs better on single core somputers like a Pentium 3 or 4.
Maybe you like wasting your money and monthly fee to beta test for an X-box 360, but when WAR comes out I will definately be switching now. If WAR sucks I'm not coming back here. I'm going to Wow, because I know Blizzard polishes their garbage. |

To add to those who have detailed the deceptive marketing that led to many being sorely let down (granted that many obviously find the good stuff to be good enough for them), I will add what I think is the biggest fib Funcom told. They clearly implied that the instancing in the game was limited to two parts of gameplay: certain quest types, and the early part fo the game in general (a la the opening sequence of lotro). Whereas what has been offered is servers that are constantly split into shards for the sole purpose of limiting the number of players in a given area who are able to interact with each other/cohabit the same environment. In other words, what was sold as a creative approach is primarily a way of minimizing cost and effort at headquarters. Wow had some serious lag for quite a while early on (especially for thsoe of us without amazing machines), but they didn't make Ironforge an instance to solve it, they spent money and time on fixing the problem over several months (granted they were not always forthcoming about what was going on, often blaming players ISPs or computers). This problem is clearly related to the FPS problem that many cite: the game is pretty but doesn't run well for most people. It can't be a game with a large subscriber base in the longrun, AND a game that will only run on what are currently elite computers, that's a silly expectation if it was what Funcom thought would happen.

Funcom is, unlike other MMO companies, traded in the stock-exchange; as such, they are obliged to give out quarterly reports on their financial numbers, and i would believe that would include subscriptions (or rather, revenue from subscriptions). |
