I think it has more of the fact that the reviewers give it a high score and don't even mention the glaring problems that are currently in the game.  Honestly, this game is not as bad as the haters make it out to be.  It's also not as good as the fanboys claim it is.  Right now it's somewhere in the middle.  If the bugs get fixed, it will be slightly above average.  The only thing that would make this game great is a total revamp of the PvP system, which I don't see happening anytime soon. 

My main is lvl 57 by now. I do have a lot of quest in my log but I have become afraid to do them because there are only about 2 quests per level by now and they will gain me maybe 20% of a lvl. Rest is grinding repeatable kill quest.

So I have done crafting, gained me lvl 54 and 55 to complete tier 2. Done the repeatable villa quests and come to realize that the game in its current form is not really that fun anymore at those lvls.

I had thought that at lvl 60+ things would get better again as there are more zone to lvl in again but my guildies have already run out of lvl 60+ content including red quests and they are still lvl 60 . . .

People will know me as a stout defender of the game but right now there is a serious content problem past lvl 50 which is as bad as the lvl 30s in lotro before book 9. This has made me roll an alt hoping for better content once that char reach lvl 50.

If that havent happened by then then I dunno . . .

The game does need more quests from 50-60 but i disagree with 40-50 as i didnt find that hard atall. Alot of people seem to just stay in 1 area and then complain when tehy run out of quests, one of the great things i have found about AoC is that there are mutliple areas that i can level in all the way from 20-50.

Really though anyone who says that it is hard to level in this game must be a terrible player. People where max level by the end of the first week and even more hit it in the second week.

49 to 50 was the one that took the longest time, since i ran out of quests. So i had to grind my way all up to 50. And now i moved on to the next zone.. But it looks like i have to grind a lot more, since i only found 3 new quests so far. Which are all red to me, in my quest log.

I am also 50. I have never run out of quests, although FoTD was more boring than others. Have you gone to Eigolon mountains? There are many quests there for you at level 50. And did you do the noble district quests?

Its funny how a lot of players are "spoiled" with quest request, actually AoC have lots and lots of those dummy repeatable quests so you can NEVER run out of quests.

They went even so far that all the Vila quests in noble district will always be for your level so if you take the quest at level 40 you will be killing lvl 40 mobs if you do it at lvl 79 you will be killing level 79 mobs etc..
( That type of quests and there are quite few are on timers so you cant do it like once per day )

The main problem was when they "balanced/lower" general XP ratio from beta to release several GAP's appeared.

The majority of those GAP's are past level 50.  Some say 40 but thats not the truth as at lvl 40 you have bunch of quests in noble district (including vila's) and as well Fields of the dead, even if you skip all group quests you should be level 48/49 if you just did quests and did not kill any other mobs.

Example for those GAP+s past lvl 50. (zone: E. Mountains )
You get a quest at level 48 and once you do them you are like lvl 51 now you need to grind to level 52 to be able to get some new quests ( by grind i mean kill like 100mobs same level to gain a level ) after you finish level 52 quests you will be around 54 /50% and you will again need to grind to 56 to get some new quests.

In that time you ALWAYS have 2 repeatble quest avialable  that are worth doing to lvl 53 and at lvl 54 you have 3 repeatble quests that you can do up to level 59 they are all in E. Mountains if you get bored with that zone you can also go to noble district and do Vila's quests.

The leveling is Age of Conan is really simple you can level up much much faster then in WoW ( mentioning WoW couse everyone knows it )

The that bad taste some players get past level 50 is that up till then you dont even notice you are doing anything and levels are just raising past that you need to put some effort in it.

Actually, you're wrong, and I'm wondering how many people here actually read the entire thing.

First of all, this thread's a repeat, since I posted the same thing here 4 Days Ago, and opinion-free, taking the good and bad spots in only quote form from the article:

Most of the review is lukewarm at best, and not much is outright complimenting it. Take a look through the entire review and you will see the same complaints post-40 that most people here are talking about. In fact, their bottom line says:

"Overall I'd say the game's worth checking out, though maybe it's best to wait a month or two at this point so more of the issues with higher level content can get worked out."

The Post-40 impressions speak badly of the content, the crafting and the harvesting, the lack of different armor styles and the bugs throughout the game.
