Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege. |
This is a better idea:

To be honest, Nascar only uses gase from 76. No one uses gas from 76 stations cause they so much more damn expensive. |

bushmonkey, cars drive with better gas mileage on the highway, how, in anyway would lowering the speed limit on highways cheapen the price of gas? that might have worked for cars 35 years ago, but I'm sure that cars are more efficient nowadays. Lets try this: make citizens apply to be able to drive trucks and suvs; only people with valid reason to own such a vehicle should be allowed to drive one (ie farm workers, businesses, etc.). And use the commerce clause so the government can take more control over gas prices. |

Even in 1974, reducing the speed by 10 mph only reduced gas consumption 1%. Cars right now consume less fuel at 60 then 55. Also the reason why cars have better highway fuel is because of stop-lights. |

right.... A 500 mile race with 43 or so cars is really going to change anything. Any professional sports league can afford high fuel costs. So come on high fuel prices.
P.S. I want to see fuel hit atleats $6.00 a gallon before the years up. It would make my year. I doubt it will happen though. Only way were going to start weening ourselfs off the stuff is when its gets to high to afford. |

I personally think that making cars lighter will make the cars waste less gas. Its a proven fact. 1% of the gas you use is actually taking you to your destination. The rest of the 99% of gas you use is actually just hauling the car around. |

I know how about stop trying to use ethanol. It gives 1 unit for every 1 unit of fossil fuel put in. It has also jacked up corn prices. |
