It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional.

I was able to have a decent experience with grass and all on a 7600GT card (laptop). One thing that helped a lot was turning off volumetric clouds. There are a few other tricks that you can find on the forums.
What I found is that the performance bottlenecks are often not in the card but in the RAM. Especially in cities, a lot of stuttering happens because the comp is loading those beautiful textures from your HD. I recently upgraded to 8800GT 512MB and I would still get poor performance in Khal on max settings. Upping my RAM to 4GB solved it. I am running under Vista, and memory being cheap, it was a good idea anyway.

AoC sill is running smoother though, so there is still work to be done.

Sorry to say, this game still has quite a few performance issues. Hitching is still frequent, and almost everyone experience lag in APW (the only raid zone). This so-called APW lag bug is related to buffs and the devs have been working on a fix for months now.

The lag is only experienced in APW, which means 99% of the content is fine.  Just thought I'd throw that out there.

You can.

If you can't scale it you can rent a flying mount and fly there.

You can go just about anywhere.

It's ironic, but you're the one spreading half truths and misrepresentations.

Starting to think you have not played this game very much at all.

And that being the case you are not really qualified to set anyone straight on the "truth" of the game.

This thread seems like a clever troll-post veiled in "objectivity."

If not, then my apologizes. But it sure gives me that vibe.

The fact that no one understands you doesn't make you an artist.

That is a bold faced lie. This is what I am talking about, which is why I created this thread. Ask other people who were in Kojan yesterday afternoon PST how the lag was. Everyone on /regionsay were talking about how laggy the game was yesterday. We are talking about 30 second lag spikes here. Plain as daylight. Lag like this comes and goes. Granted, it isn't common place from my understanding, but it does happen. So acting like APW is the only place that lags is covering up the facts. In fact, Ra'Jin Stronghold has been a laggy place in particular since launch and it is still a laggy place.

Yes or No, can you scale every mountain on foot to its summit? I was told you can, which was a half-truth, because while you cannot scale every mountain or most mountains for that matter by foot, you can reach the summit by using a flying mount, as you say. You may think we are talking semantics, but it actually matters to some people and is worth mentioning.

This isn't a veiled troll post, but if you feel offended by it or put off, ignore it and don't respond. It is that easy.

JK's no troll, he's a skeptical critic like many of us with no game to call home

Realistically, the mountain thing guys. Some slopes are steeper then others but if you can find a way, whether through flying or working the terrain, you can get up them. Many games throw up an "invisible wall" at the base so you can not traverse them at all. VG doesn't. Thats what makes it different from games like LotR, AoC or GW. If you can find a way, you can get there. In those other games, the terrain is nothing more then a prop or a background painting.
