Age of Conan

Since all you see anymore is hundreds of negative posts. I wanted a positive post for today!

I enjoy aoc, I think the game has much potential to be a top rated game. I of course understand that I must be patient and relax and give the dev's time to work out all the bugs. I was sitting here just sipping on some ice cold tea and I said to myself "how does it stack up against other games of its genre" Well lets see the release had some bugs, well so did WOW, EQ2, Vanguard, Lineage2, ohh ohhh need a sip of tea. mmmmm, ok now does aoc have issues?, heck yea it does, wait wait wait WOW, EQ2, Vanguard, Lineage2 all have been out for several years and they still have issues. So aoc is no different! Is that what your saying? Yes thats what I am saying....hmmmmm....Ok I just had another thought here...oh boy! what what what. Those other games if they are without issues after several years, then how come they release weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly patches? ding ding we have a winner. I WON I WON, wait what did I win? Nothing. lawl.

Great game, love it, buy it, try it out, use your own brain to make your own decisions. Give the game time it ROCKS!!!!!

Or don t buy it wait for a trial, judge it without spending money. That would be the smart thing to do IMO.

first off, slow down on the caffine.  second, i agree with you that conan is a great game. i played wow for years and it's time for something else. dont get me wrong, i still have love for wow. but conan has given me something to be excited about. after less than a month of release, funcom is making fixes that are needed. sure you can read all the posts about how funcom lied about this and screwed up with that. its new. in the months to come, this will be a very exciting game to play.

so for all of you who have been "researching" on whether or not to give this game a try, go for it. dont let the negative posts convince you this game isnt "ready" or "playable". it is. try it out for yourself.

I do agree that there are very good elements to AoC, but there are tons of things missing imo.

....Seems like something is missing, I find myself coming home and saying, I really dont feel like playing.  Nothing addictive to get me hooked. The impressive combat/graphics arent good enough to do the trick

Age of Conan Awesome!

     I agree this game is the best RPG I've ever played.  I absolutely love it!  I didn't think I would like anything better than FFXI or Oblivion, but man do I love this game.  Here are my top 5 favorite things about Age of Conan.  1.  Combat - the combat is truly innovative and keeps me on my toes.  I love switching between hand to hand combat and spells, not to mention the cool buffs.  2.  Quests - wow picking up 15 quests at a time, coming back and leveling twice ... AMAZING!  I've been missing out ... in FFXI it's just one big grind.  3.  Graphics - the graphics are absolutely stunning, and I haven't experienced any lag so far.  4.  Lore/Storyline - I love the mature seeting in AOC the storyline is right up my alley.  5.  The War Mammoth - People will bash this one and say that other games have way cooler mounts, but I'm used to running around on horses and chocobo's,  the War Mammoth is unbelievable ... WOW!!

Yep the game is great...or still is at level 38 at least!

 Im having some fun with it so far also. The combo moves are pretty fun so far and im liking the quests and Grafix. My only complaint is the character movement controlls are a little slow and chunky, and the interface is really poor comparid to most mmos ive played.

I agree with you bout the UI, hopefully they will enchance it in a future patch, im almost confident they will. I was taken by surprise yesterday, I logged on and starting picking up and turning in quests and it took me bout 1/2 hour to realize that the NPC's in Old Tarantia and some of the other zones are actually talking, heh I think its cool, seems like they listened to the people about that and delivered.

I was talking with my brother about  it yesterday and he said that they were going to add more voice overs in the next patch. I just need to go find out where the patch notes are so that I can read more in depth about it. Keep up the good job Funcom..

3 of my friends decided to buy the game despite all the negative reviews it got. I think after that watched me play it they got interested in it real quickly because they pretty much took over my pc last night making and playing characters...I told them don't pay too much attention to the negative posts and the reviews, to just give it a try, so they tried it on my pc, didn't cost them any money, (so maybe buddy keys will allow skeptics to try the game without feeling ripped of $50) i think I got them hooked so now I got some RL friends to form a guild with.

Yes the game has some issues here and there, no biggie I can deal with it. patches will fix many of these issues overtime.

 I do find 1 thing interesting after thinking bout it a bit..(heh I always do some thinking bout lots of stuff) but anyways if there is a feeling that the game is unfinished, whether it is true or not may not be a bad thing, gives it mystery, sometimes not knowing what to expect can be exciting, this opens up the possibility vault to add tons of ideals and content to the game. like a book with blank pages at the end, that means the ending will be a mystery it could be as far as yours or the devs imagination can go...who knows, I am a creative thinker, I like to step back and try to figure it out....I always step back before I step forward....
