Besides most of the things you mentioned are problems most f2p asian games face and I sure as hell know Aion won't be a f2p game lmao. As for instancing goes as long as the game have good game play, a decent flying combat system and no bots I could careless of the instances they put in. I just hope NC Soft does a good job with this game, Which for sure I know they will. |

The biggest problem for me was the excessive grinding (In Lineage 2 anyway)....

Originally posted by thorwood Actually, it is an engineering marvel, but first you need to take a few things into consideration. To start with, its not a single server, but rather a single world spread across multiple server instances. The overload happens when there is too many players on a single instance, and that is the technology challenge that CCP still works on to try and improve. We may have to wait for future hardware to be created before that day arrives though. True, EVE goes down for maintenance every day.... annoys the heck out of me, but no more than WOW did by shutting down for most of the day on Tuesdays. (thank God I wasn't an Aussie) But back on track, we'll have to wait and see if AION truly breaks the mold from previous NCSoft efforts or is just more of the same.

Samuraisword: I sincerely hope you never get to beta test a game. For it's quite apparent that the only reason you would "test" a game is to see if you like it, not to help with its development. Also, I find it funny how you've clammed up about NCSoft developing Guild Wars when the point was made that ArenaNet did developed it, who are indeed a subsiduary of NCSoft. If you can't admit to your overgenerialsed mistakes, then you're nothing but a troll. You came here, made a mis-informed statement, and now continue to beat the dead horse to make yourself feel better (or look less stupid). If you have a question to ask, ask it. But no, you're incapable of using the common sense it takes to do that. |

Though, any company that actually relies on free labor as a substitute for paid labor to beta test their product is retarded, which is why we see so many incomplete buggy releases of late. Most MMOG developers use beta tests as a way to market their game as well. NCsoft owns Arenanet and therefore shares the credit for developing Guild Wars, get over it. They wouldn't list themselves as co developer as I have shown, if they didn't want part of the credit, good or bad. As publisher for CoX they also want to be associated with that game's success or failure, which is why they proudly market it on their site. Both those games are way overinstanced IMO so my original premise was a reasonable conclusion. Many gamers don't research beyond what they know or hear about a company based on previous experience only, so this thread helps Aion IMO, if it will have limited instancing.

Uhm, i wouldnt be so certain dameok, yeah, im sure someone will come up with a packets sender sooner or later, however, from what we know at the moment, it doesn't look like it would be convenient to do so, when most of the time spent will be in a ffa pvp area pve wise, since leveling curve has already been stated as soft, and when dynamic world changes, making it impossible to relax or go afk since mobs may evolve and become stronger, and with such a dynamic combat system, where you can't simply click a 1,2,3 repeat, I doubt bots would end up as the best leveling choice. Will there be bots? Surely, someone always can come with that since making them isnt hard, will it be convenient? I'm doubting so from what I know, I would like to be 100% certain though, but that's well known as impossible right now ;) |
