All that time in beta and the game still released in the state that it is now. Now, they are planning all these major updates like the PvP overhaul and new content. It will probably release in the same buggy mess the game did. I really don't think Funcom tests anything at the moment. When they released the patch that made it so you can only change instances near a rez point, they completely broke instance swapping. Even if you were standing right on a rez point, it would say you are too far way. How do you miss something like that if there was any soft of testing at all? |

Nothing in that "evolution" update is adding to the game they promised. This IS the game they promised. This is stuff we shouldn't pay months to get. We have been treated like jerks and they want our monthly subscription fees. How can we even trust they will deliver now? After all these promises up to launch. I never will believe a word they say! |

Stopping free instance swapping was a great idea. The game isnt as polished as LOTRO overall, but it's good points outweigh the bads for me. There are no game breaking bugs I have run into. The instance thing, just move off the rez point and switch, thats not a big issue. Will be intresting to see where AOC goes from here. If Funcom delivers on their promises AOCs future looks good. |

Hmm this is strange, after the last update, AoC runs very unstable after some playtime..... Guess i stepped on a landmine called "giant turn off". Since it gets unplayable when it kicks in.
Until that strange problem, i had no trouble nor bad feelings about the game.
I hope they fix it soon though, because it smells like really bad coding or programming. Guess i'm really thankful it's summer right now, so putting games on hold here won't be any problem.
But i'll be crawling back, when the weather turns grim or the summer ends, no other game has sparked any interest, aside from AoC.... sooo yeah. |

I agree, stopping free instance swapping was a step in the right direction. My complain is that after dying, when i'm standing right on the rez point, it'd still say i was too far away. Even after moving and going back i'd get the same message. Mind you, this was RIGHT after it was changed so it very well could have been fixed by now. It's just stupid that it would say i was too far away even after just ressing and standing right on top of it. |

Having played AO from beta to AI I know Funcoms approach to things. They will promise one thing and give you something else. The promised to ease up on AO being grindy and then gave us Shadowlands which was the grindiest grind ever (in order to get better XP from mobs, you will need to grind faction to increase your favor, then you can go grind mobs for XP!). The whole shadowlands expansion made no real sense to the story and was later admitted to be something Gaute thought players would want because he was playing EQ and Planes of Power were popular and he enjoyed it himself. They always played down issues like they were not a big deal (guild bank exploit as an example, credit duping, tower battle exploiting, etc) and most people who spoke out were either ignored by CS or banned from the forums. They promised Tower Battles before launch, only to make us pay $20 for the Notum Wars Booster pack. The game only got slighlty better after Gaute moved on to other projects. SL was knocked down a few pegs and made less grindy and gave instanced missions to help people progress through it. AI came out and actually made sense with the sci fi theme, etc. |

I'll "Third" that Gaute Godager is probably the least competent Head Dev ever. I will not touch another game he heads after this AoC fiasco. I really hope they don't let him anywhere near FCs next one "The Secret World" |
