The "EULA" shouldn't override the consumer's right to a refund for a 'faulty' product.

Contrary to what many people think - EULAs are not 100% binding.  Even in the US.
(At this point I expect to be contradicted - because every time I post this a poster appears from nowhere to tell me that "Yes they are!  You will be sued if you even think of breaching an EULA!"  These posters often have less than a dozen posts and when asked for one precident they disappear or say "I am not doing the work for you!".  I suspect they are game company shills.)

Aye, thats basically what I am saying. the EULA is nothing really, just states that if your willing to use the product you have to abide by the rules yada yada yada. And even then its just there for legal purposes to cover the makers butts.

The only thing that will really limit your rights to a refund is how long you've owned the product. if its a month or less they will give a refund, maybe even 60-90 days. But if it has been a year or so good luck :P

I can understand a retailer refusing to refund you, but the manufacturer/publisher has to refund you if you feel the product is 'faulty' or 'not as advertised'.

I believed all the hype that the beta mother fuckers were spouting everywhere along with the shit Funcom were saying..

Bought it, tried to like it, cancelled, not going back.

Fuck Funcom.

Both me and my gf have cancelled our subs. We did that after a few days. Still log in now and then and can do that for another week or so.

+

+ Great graphics

+ Best music in any mmo ive played

+ Great overall atmosphere, the various enviromental sounds in Khemi are superb (gedodo gedodo anyone? :D )

+ The armors and weapons are very nicely done, i like the fact that they lack glows and effects

---

-

-  The spelleffects does not fit in with the rest of the graphics. Very badly done.

- The overall performance is bad. Unlogical FPS drops.

- 90% of the area of the great cities are unreachable to you. Khemi is ONE street and a square. Old Tarantia has no soul. There is NOTHING to do in the cities except questgrind.

- Due to the fact that AoC is so very small Funcom sometimes has to squeeze in 5-10 quests in the same very small area. Like in parts of Noble District (most retarded zone ever btw)

1st quest: Kill 10 mob type A in area B.

2nd quest: Kill 10 mob type B in area B.

3rd quest: Kill 10 mob type C in area B.

4th quest: Kill 10 mob type D in area B.

5th quest: Kill 10 mob type E in area B.

So you go to area B to to 1st Quest. No mobs are there. All are dead. A mob type C spawns. What to do while you wait for mob A? You kill mob C. 10 seconds after you killed mob C another player on quest nr 3 comes. He waits for mob type C. While he waits mob A spawns beside him. He kills it. Etc.

Totally useless questdesign by Funcom.

- Half done feat trees even though they copied wow.

- Basic things like stats not working.

- Promised buddy keys not released by Funcom.

- Horribly big mistake by funcom to only have 24 man raids. Everyone knows WoW's 10man concept is the only way to go.

Regardless of how good or bad it might be, I will try this MMO so I can be more informed when I review it later in the year.

I am doing the same Hhussk,  there seems to be alot of rampant "hatage" going on, but I am not really getting a clear picture of the game itself from the people playing  it.

Of course, forum goers are the VOCAL MINORITY...but just the same I like to test the waters by reading whats said...tossing out the extremists views where I detect them...:P

I am waiting on Funcom to free up space and allow the 7 day buddy pass to function, so that I may see for myself whether or not AOC is a game that would suit my game play style.   I've been around on the Net for some years, and don't have a problem with trying and possibly buying.    I know a few of my friends have already subscribed and from the sounds of things they are having fun with it at this point.

The other thing I am watching is the "community"......if the community as a whole...leaves alot to be desired, then I won't be subscribing.........for me community ingame is everything.

We'll see.  ^^

you know god doesnt like liars because that is so far fetched that i nearly pooped my pants. Vanguard wasnt even playable and yet you claim you played till month was over. HA its funny how people come in here to diss AoC. I see the problem with AoC and its a problem that will be fixed. Not much to do when you get to level 47ish and you have to grind. Which unfortunetly not many people like to do witht he combat system of AoC. This game is defenitly not grind friendly. to much work to get barely anything will make anyone go mad so i understand why you quit but dont say you played vanguard for 30days. thats just retarded. the only way you played this game would of been to have logged in every patch day to see if they fixed somthing and you realized they didnt. and logged back off.

Actually.........I played Vanguard until June of 2007, but then found out that SOE had swallowed up Vanguard and all of Sigil.    Once I knew that, I cancelled......haven't been back.

On a 3 month sub here so I think I finally made the decision on the form of subscription.  I was flipping between 1 month and 3 months.  May get a 6 month sub later but for now minor family upgrading has drawn thoughts of 6 month to a halt.

Was playing on a XP MCE machine but made the switch to a comp with Vista Home Premium. 64 X2 4200+ (same as XP comp) 8800GT 512MB 4 GB DDR2 800Mhz X-Fi Card (Yeah drug into the Vista)

The X1900GT 256MB and the 3GB 400 Mhz DDR weren't cutting it any longer for me.  I guess I eventually wanted more out of the graphics.  Now I can play on high instead of low and see some grass for once.  Yes I know I can't really use the full potential of 4 GB of RAM in 32-bit Vista.

Thoroughly dissapointed in that second to last patch though. (One with the new level up sound introduced 6/09)  I now recieve the gray map issue others have.

If I Zone under those coditions I'll become stuck in loading.  If I camp and try to re-enter under those coditions I'll recieve the out of memory error with an exit to desktop and a form to fill out for Funcom.

Yes I was playing the Vista machine without the map issue before that patch.

Level 40 with the conqueror last session but I've spent more time playing with computers and re-logging than playing.  So I consider it a "form of progress" under those conditions.

Although I tend to avoid the "I quit posts" I'm going to have to amend what I said earlier in the thread.

I'm going to be moving towards the probably not subscribing scenario.  That 6/09 patch has just done me and the family member in.  Since he's not playing I'm likely not to either.

Since this is a thread asking about subscription status I'd thought I'd update that so the OP can have accuracy from me.
