so the next 6 weeks until I get a decent internet connection will be hell... I haven't played for about 3 years so I know a lot has changed so I've spent the last few weeks (and probably the next 6 weeks) reading, researching and planning... but I'm sure I won't be prepared. I was never really into PvP combat and prepared the commerce aspects of the game. I remember when I sold my first Typhoon, it was a great feeling. I would sit at working on autopilot thinking about what I'd do that evening and whether my buy orders had been filled so I could start producing the next items.
Can't wait.... |

It's weird cause even though it is a PVP game the people I know like real life friends are all scared to PVP and just find enjoyment out of the game mining or mission running. I only the otherhand just think it's a virtual character so who gives a crap if it dies? lol. |

That's why this is a sandbox game, people can do whatever they want. People enjoy different things. Not everyone wants to go out and kill ppl lol. |

All things revolved around wars, or death. Even the real word! So the fact that there is war and PvP in EVE makes it more realistic, and the fact that it is also a key part even more so.. As in the real world we have miners, traders, corporations and soldiers much the same happens in EVE. All roads lead to combat, even if it just combat support but the option is also there to just fly around and admire the views and ships. I know someone that uses EVE to make pretty screen shots. Crazy people, eh? Hehe, it's awesome that you want to give it a try again. Much has changed since 2005 (I started back in 2003 but took a few months to a years break) but it's still very much a fun game. I only find it fun when my friends are online as I feel it is a very social game and without players to make new things happen it becomes very repetitive. Take the 14 day free trail. Download it and jump in! If you like it you can reactivate the old account or just keep the trial. Saves you money at least using the trial first. ^-^ |

I thought I'd pop back in and add to the comments above... PvP Comhat: Although I enjoy it, I really suck at it. The death penalty in EVE is too high for me to do it in anything but a frigate, I may set up a frigate for this as I will probably go to a Military School to get my inital setup so I can jump into a mining cruiser quicker. Trial: I'll probably reactivate my old account. My original character has about 250mil ISK that I can use to fund my new toon. |

Seems the thread title is just alittle silly, but hell who knows maybe there'll be a "I'm really bored with EVE so I'm coming back" thread? just out of curiousity though you left EvE for some reason 3 years ago, you didn't bother to come back till now and you say your not into PvP (the new expansions only real point) So why so excited now?

I played for about 8 months after launch with a couple of friends. They returned to the UK (we were all working in the US) and due to time zone differences they left and it wasn't quite the same so I left too. I tried a couple of others, see sig, and settled on WoW and played for about 3 years. I left WoW about 2 months ago as Blizzard ruined it and have been looking for something new. EVE is really the only game out there without leveling that has other non-combat aspects and as I've been reading a lot over the last few months and hyping myself up... |
