Darkfall

Whow, wait a minute. The DF community are as real as any other community. Maybe even more. They have talked with eachother for seven years. Thats longer then any WoW players have. So think how good it will be if DF is released!

I agree with the OP, in fact I think I started a thread like this when I took a look at their community a while back, although I might have done that on their forum. That really is the most awful community I've ever seen in terms of immaturity and flaming anyone who doesn't worship darkfall's creators. And I come from SWG where the fanboi's are pretty hardened.

So not condoning same old stupid questions over and over and over again is immature? I agree that their General Discussion (almost all newbs) is horrible and fanboys galore, which is why I hardly ever venture there, but Off-Topic section (most vets are there) is something else. You can find some really intelligent discussions there. Sure theres flaming, but that's what you get when you act like an idiot.

But hey, if you enjoy forums which are run by soccer moms and where they /hugz and /kisses when you ask the same question for umpteenth time, go somewhere else. Frankly, I woulnd't stomach such a place for five minutes.

No I mean people like yourself that are sarcastic and not helpful even when they try their hardest not to be. Soccer moms with /hugz and /kisses !?!? Where are you pulling that out of?

Why should someone have to go to the 'Off-topic' section to ask a question about the game? And there is mature and immature ways of handling repetive questions. So no you don't have to condone 'stupid' questions, but flaming the hell out of someone IS immature.

Most of the tards at DF are newcomers, we've have many disscution about their behaviur. They think they're fit in with immature behaviur, but they fail to use sarcasm.

I can't wait till the guys running darkfall finally come out and say that this was all a big colledge psycology test on group mentality over the internet and there never really was a darkfall game being made.

Jeffdnd speaks the truth.  If they thought it was such a bad question, or overly asked.  Would it be really hard just not to reply to the thread?

I am hoping that this is just representive of people who write in their forums, and not the eventual playing public.  Probably wishful thinking, something you have to do a lot of it seems whenever DF is involved,

Dude your a wow player. Darkfall will NOT be for you and I wish I could badlt flame you here but the mods do not like it.

Not even close. Wait until you're on a official game forum, and despite clear TOS against call out threads and more,  the mod not only participates in the TOS violation even calls his prey a "pedophile" (yep, no innuendo, outright, "pedophile").

When forum management is as bad as the insane asylum..."Houston, we have a problem".

Some game companies are quite open to criticism and are good at mob management (call EA a lot of things, but EA is v-e-r-y good at mob management). Other companies are so immature you swear it's run by a geek, who took his vengence out on everyone because he couldn't be picked to play kickball.

A good community is one that isn't defensive to the point they come off as elitist, insular and a bunch of paid fanboi navel gazers. They can take as much as they can give, with the ultimate goal in HELPING the game, not tearing it down (or creating some type of serfdom that repeals than invites).

No matter how good a game can be, and with the latest and greatest, if it's community are rats, knaves and cutthroats your gaming fun won't be much. This is especially true with MMOs, as this is a more social game than shouting some smack between frags.

So folks, look at the whole package, as these MMOs are going to become your life over time. If the pieces don't fit, save yourself the agony, and move along. So many are looking at the face of the game itself, instead of the whole package, and a stinking community does more to sink a game than any programming flaw (which can be readily patched -- bad community, might as well can it all).

Oh, and that game with at pedophile accusing mod? It's popularity rose, then sunk and even the community flamers are now flaming their own love child. Simple piranhas, they'd eat their young.
