Every where i look, everything i try... nothing seems fun anymore. SWG, WoW, EQ2, EQ, LOTRO, Guild Wars just got boring after a while. ive been hearing this from other people too. im looking for something fun, and something that doesnt make you have to go out and collect mushrooms, and wild flowers for some old guy in town. Its the same quests!!! go gather a........ go kill some....... go tell him that....... make me some........ when players say, "I want all quests to be different." They dont mean just change the name of the items you have to gather/kill/make. |

I think the MMO community has outgrown the current MMOS. Or, perhaps its like that drug you take for the first time....The first MMO experience is the best and your always trying to re-live that same experience.... My first MMO was EQ2..... Its always home to me even though I have tired of it. Nothing else gives me that experience when it was new. |

I think it's that. I always want the next MMO to be 'kind of similar' to the one I played most. But when it's too similar or completely different I get jaded lol. And going back to the first isn't an option either (EQ) since it has died out long ago. I'm not sure, maybe there haven't been many decent MMO lately, guild wars and WoW are cool, but they do all seem similar one way or another. |

If you can do it, cookies for you. I personally cannot. Every thing gets old, life gets old, just as these MMO's (which usually are a good representation of an ever changing life) get boring. No matter how hard you try, it's difficult to develop a new MMO that isn't leeching off of the ideas from older ones. The most "original" game i've seen so far is Chronicles of Spellborne, and only for their combat system. If that game flops, I will have no idea what to look forward to after wards. I don't so much mind quests' that all ask me to do the same thing. I just want something visually appealing (by this I mean basic WASD movement with zoom-in and zoom-out abilities, I don't care about graphics) that offers both advanced PvP (Arenas, Grounds of Battle) and PvE (Raids with strategic fights). Then i'll be happy. |

id hafta say the same, i tryed quite a few after my breif but well enjoyed EQOA run and then long time love of FFXI. i havent been able to find anything "kinda like that" its true nothing is gunan be as epic as the first, and for me personaly its because i knew in real life about 6 people who i hung with got really into it with me (and my bro played) so not having them kinda ruins things i try. also after how groupy and more i guess u can call it "hardcore" FFXI was alot of todays games felt simple. so my tactic after my long break from them is to get into Warhammer. for 2 reasons 1) its the only game im kinda excited to play and 2) its a tottaly diffrent style then ffxi or EQ (being very much about PVP/RVR over PVE and raiding, so i cant have that "comparing" thought in my head of why i liked those others better. i think until ppl get over the whole WoW phase and companys too, then mabey we will finally get some sort of "evolution" in MMO gaming, but itl probly be a long while. |

I agree with all of you. I have literally tried all games in the list that are released. And none of them appease me. Though, I have ray of hope right now, and that is Aion. |

To make a difference isnt right or wrong, it is rather to differ--me |
I'd have to admit that aion does seem groundbreaking just because it has an ingenious activity for the player instead of implementing it on the mob for once. |

Cynical? Me? Never. |
I have the same problem.
I loved EQ, but it outgrew me. It turned into a raiding game, a very boring raiding game, I absolutely loved DAoC. In the beginning there were only Dragon raids(I joined after SI). DRs had little impact on the game. It was a game were you could casually enjoy, and advance forever. Heck, you could even go on a DR at anytime. Of course ToA came out, and turned it into a raiding game. Next N,F which killed the casual tank players. Then their absurd expansions which introduced OPed classes in every single x-pac. COH. Very repetitive, Was well worth the free month, though. I tried out EQ2. Too lifeless. I tried WoW. I really enjoyed it, but I know it was a raid grind game. I hoped I could stay in the lower lvls and enjoy BGs. While the end game kept getting updated they never updated the other parts of the game. Boredom sent in, and I quit. EVE. Boring PVE, slow paced, and a horrible skill system. LOTRO. If you thought MMOs couldn't get any easier than WOW LOTRO proved us wrong. No sense of accomplishment. Group quest in a solo game? How's that work? DDO. Fail. Vanguard. A decent game, but their horrible launch killed them. The servers are ghost towns, as of last month. I probably would have really enjoyed this game if other people played. AOC. Maybe in 3 or 4 moths it will be a fun game, but by then WAR will be out. WAR. Probably my last hope before I hang it up on the MMO market.
I've been chasing that feeling that early EQ and DAoC give me for darn near 5 years now. I went back to those games occasionally. Stuck with DAoC for quit some time even mustering through ToA, and tried out the classic servers for a few months. I became a raider in EQ for a few months time. It seems any MMO I enjoy tried to change their direction, and has paid the price in subscriptions. I just can't find a game where a casual player is rewarded as much as a raider is. My time is just as important. I refuse to get second rate gear, because they had more people in their "group". WAR is my last hope. Maybe I'm just getting too old for games now. I dunno, but I'm done rambling.
