I went to gamestop today and got my CE preorder, and I got the last one they will ever get at my store. I asked the associate how many other stores have, and he said that most of the gamestops NATION WIDE have sold out of rave cards. He also said that only 60k CE's will be released in NORTH AMERICA. I confirmed this with the website. I went home and looked up Best buy and amazon, and they are having the same general problem with limited quantities. Basically, if you want a pre-order, and you are reading this... you might be boned. |

Frankly I'm surprised there are any left at all. If nothing else I figured they would sell out just to get into beta. It doesn't cost anything to pre-order so even if you don't plan on playing the game or just want to try it you may as well pre-order and then just cancel if you don't like what you see in the beta. That's why AoC charged 5 bucks for the download so if you canceled they still got you for a few bucks. |

Well with AOC they still wanted to get a little bit I think. With WAR I figure Paul is pretty confident people will like it lol. I pre-ordered mine from Amazon the day it became available and have had my code on there for a long time. |

Why So Serious? |
I'm just kinda curious what rock you've been under OP...the announcement for the CE said there's only 60k CE's along with 60K codes (some gamestops fubar'd their codes by giving them out and not pre ordering the CE's but oh well). Thats only for North America though. Europe & Aussies got seperate amounts. Most CE's are always limited..thats the whole point :)
I got my CE right after the announcment from Amazon printed my codes *pets them lovingly* I look forward to it. I mean the Ingame stuff alone is enough to make me happy to spend the money but the addition of the model, the comic, and just the awsomeness of the box...well thats like a total score bonus to me. I really wouldn't consider them running out of CE's as a problem..but as a Serious awsomeness for WAR. |

This MMO is a little different pre order imo. It has the collector edition Warhammer figure which if you do not collect them I am sure be worth a few dollars. It also has some cool other things. If you are not a fan at all then I would not pre order, but I am a Mythic fanboi evn though they boned me with DAOC so I pre-ordered the day they announced it. |

I said the same thing 18 months ago after the last MMOG I took a large part in failed (was an AGM & quest writer). The company completely lied about the state of the game, right up until launch. I bought into it like everyone else until I started seeing things behind the scenes that really made me nervous about it, and which finally convinced me that even droves of volunteers working on the game couldn't save it. However, there are some developers in the market that actually have clout. Their name really is synonymous with things like "quality" and "trustworthy", not to mention "fun". Blizzard has proven itself that way time and again, and Mythic is right up there with them with the long-running DAoC. Back that up with the Warhammer universe, and the clout that EA brings (not to mention that EA is actually leaving Mythic alone to do their work), and you have the right mix for a fun and long lasting title: WAR. When the time came to make a decision about 2 months ago for preordering a CE, it wasn't that difficult to step up and buy a copy. I spent years in the DAoC universe, and will likely spend many more in Warhammer online. With less trustworthy developers, or those that aren't proven in the market yet, I completely agree with your assessment, and would do the same thing: just not preorder. |

Let's say I pre-ordered my CE's online through Best Buy. Obviously the game doesn't ship till whenever, but the CE codes for open beta are sent via email or through the mail? |

Got my CE pre-order the other week, which was also the last copy they had, which they weren’t even supposed to have... Read on for a tale of thrilling heroics an… well not really, but feel free to read on if right now, like me, you really are just THAT bored. I was at the store as they unpacked their allotment of 6 CE pre-order boxes, however only being vaguely interested in WAR at that point decided not to bother; I had brought into the whole ‘nothing but WoW clone’ nonsense, which having played WoW on and off for the better part of 3 years wasn’t a terrible thing, but I am more or less over it. Having lost my job the week before I had little else to do with my time so I took it apon myself to absorb any and all info relating to WAR and as such found that not only is it not 'nothing but a WoW clone' but is quite possible the MMO I have been looking for; that is, one that doesn’t require you to be part of a large hardcore guild to participate in content beyond ‘kill X badges and bring me there noses’. By the time I got back to the store 2 days later it was to my dismay that I found there were no more CE pre-orders left… And now, the thrilling conclu… oh, just get on with it… yes, get on with it… and stop trying to be funny by quoting Monty Python… As luck would have it though I stopped by the next day on unrelated business only to be informed that due to a shipping error they had just received 1 more CE pre-order box, and I think you can guess by the introduction of this post what I did then. (No, not that) The End. This has been another quality produc…. Walks off to commit suicide in a graveyard… SNAAAAAAAAAKKKKEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! |
