Unless I'm greatly mistaken Warcraft Orcs and Humans came out way before Diablo.  Heck warcraft II was out before Diablo.

My bet is they will announce the release date of SC2 but also that they are in the process of making Diablo 3. There will be no new words about their next mmo.

The Lost Vikings was one of Blizzards first game and another one, rock and roll racing I think.

Your very mistaken about this. Making D3 MMO based just like WOW will be hugely popular!!!  If you think otherwise then break out your old cd's and load diablo games up and play it how it was then.

Things change man and to make a MMO popular it has to have MMO appeal and that is exactly what WOW did with it's warcraft series, it ended up going MMO route with instances and BOP armors weapons and what happened to that game? It became the best most fun and benchmarked MMO for success ever created. WOW will always be the highlight of great IP to MMO success.

I hope D3 comes out, in old standard RPG/Bnet form or MMO form. The ONLY thing I am concerned about is if they decide to taint the D3 project with Jeff Kaplan's lame epeen/rep stroking design methods :(. Tired of MMOs appealing to the unemployed for best gains... can't wait for warhammer lol.

Its diablo 3 gentlemen. Let the tears of joy stream!

The more I think about it, the more I’m beginning to convince myself that this is not WoTLK, World of Starcraft nor DiabloIII.  I think Blizzard is about to announce a new IP.

Consider that all the runes are from different IP’s.  One from each of Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, Pax Imperia and Lost Vikings.  That hints that the next rune is from a different IP, perhaps a brand new one.
 
Consider also that Harbinger is a foreshadowing of things to come.  I think we are seeing the dawning of a new era.  A new IP for Blizzard.
 
Consider the fact that while Blizzard has not come out and said it directly they have hinted the new MMO is not simply taking an existing IP and making it into an MMO.  We know for sure that Blizzard is working on an unannounced MMO and Blizzard has said that it would be amazing.  Blizzard doesn’t do this kind of stuff for just anything, it’s big.  I’ve got to believe they are announcing their unannounced MMO and it doesn’t get any bigger than a new MMO that is NOT based off an existing IP.  A new MMO and a new IP.  That’s huge.  That’s worthy of 5 days of lead up.
 
Consider the fact that the image is set to a background of stars.  This hints that’s there’s a whole complete universe that is being revealed.
 
I’m pretty sure they aren’t going to do another Fantasy MMO.  Just because it’s not Starcraft doesn’t mean it can’t be Sci-Fi.  The Sci-Fi MMO’s currently out are sorely lacking in my opinion.  Could this be the next Earth and Beyond that I’ve been wanting someone to come out with?  Please, please please let it be so.

Personally, I hope so because it doesn't look like WOTLK even though it would be an obvious guess. As for Diablo 3, I still think that's at least a year away considering how much time they're pouring into the WoW expansion and the next installment of the Starcraft series. I think their work ethic hasn't changed so I expect this teaser is indeed something new. Or at lest I hope so. Even though I love the Diablo series, something new is a far better thing in my book.
