 Unless they changed it thats how it is.Was there dirty/cheap tactic to make ppl stay subbed After 2-3 months canceled they would make your account/key invalid.

Wow...that shocks me. Oh well...sadly I will not be buying the game again (another $40) to find out rather i like it...but I would have considered paying a month to try it again. What a bad business model.

 Monthy fee is what 15 bucks? I can't even remember been so long since I played it I think Direct 2 Drive has a special on it for 19.00 you get all the expansions and 30 days play time might want to look into that 4 bucks more than what a resub would cost ya but still not bad as you will have all the expansions.

No every year they run a "Return to Vana'diel Campaign"  your account is not cancelled its just temporarily disabled.  Dunno if you can call them outside this event and reactivate an old account but its worth a try and doesn't cost anything!  You don't have to rebuy the game if you can get ur old account back to active!  Though you would have to buy any new expansions you don't have yet!

I've reactivated an account that was 4 yrs old before, but it was during that event!  There is however a $13-15  charge for reactivating old accounts I think on top of the 1st monthly bill! 

...oh and the Vana'diel Collection 2008 is $30.00 with all current expansions!

You could always do something whacky and crazy and try to pickup the trial copy of ffxi.  It retails for $2.99  Or could do something crazier and contact Square Enix about your registration code. Might be best to try them and see if they can explain what happened to the reg code.

Ok... your post just plain confused me; however, I'll try to help.

Get your login information, it's still very much useful.  And try to login to PlayOnline as if you still had an active FFXI account because your POL account should still be active . . . I don't have a clue why they are even asking for registration numbers.  If this doesn't work, call the phone number on their support page (it's long distance, I believe California).

When you call have the following available: Your Account Info, All of the Keys attached to the account, and the credit card number you used to register.  And they'll walk you through the process of reactivating your account.

I stopped playing this game for nearly 2 years myself and restarted 3 months ago, and never had this problem.... granted I did play for 3 months at launch so I dunno.

Also, the charging $13 for reactivating your account.  This is not a reactivation fee, this is the standard monthly fee.  Since they charge ONLY on the 1st of each month, if you register any day other than the time that they are registering they'll bill you for your 1st month and 2nd month at the same exact time, hence a "$13-$15 extra fee on your credit card bill."
