Age of Conan

Adam Sessler of G4 TV discusses Age of Conan and he must know something the rest of the Age of Conan community doesn't know with the statement, "We hope to see in November."   He was talking about the current state of the game and how unfinished thegame is.   Does that mean not to expect working sieges and PvP system and DirectX10 until NOVEMBER?

Well it's pretty clear what FC's strategy is with DX10.  Put it in at the same time WAR releases so they can try the same 'hey come look at our brilliant graphics' sales hype again.  I suppose I can't blame them for that, afterall, they have to have something to compete with WAR right?

I'm glad I watched the clip, the WoW part made me realize how crap my graphics are and that I need a serious upgrade...  and I agree, FC are trying to compete with the WAR launch.

There also going against WoW's xpac and LoTRO's xpac so FC is going to have to pull off some major development to get some attention back.

So, the scenario that says, "they did not make it with DX10 at launch and their working their asses off to get it out ASAP", does not exist for you?

Ok, WAR looks llike crap... at least in that clip.  WoW looked x10 better then WAR.  Could have been the clip.

Not sure what he meant about November.

I thought i did hear something about a show that would take place in either Sept or Oct, where FC would unveil DX10 for the first time, perhaps they already told him that Nov would be the month they release all the goods to live.

Or maybe that is the Xbox release date, if they are still even planning to put this thing on the 360.

First, I am boycotting Vista as long as possible, and 2nd... is the big issue of AoC graphics?? I dont think so.

I think both WAR and WoW looked fine from the videos, but of all the areas they could've chosen to show with WoW.......why Gnomeregan!?  heh

...and yeah deffinitely sounds like Adam knows much more about AoC than the gaming community does, cause he didn't think about or slow down at all when he mentioned November for AoC getting better!  Just kept on going as it was fact!

really? I was hoping that was really bad lighting or something.  Graphics are not everything, I liked DAoC and it's graphics were pretty cartoony but everything seemed boring and plain from the clip.  It's probably just a bad video though, I do hope they pull of another DAoC, it was a great game.

Well there is no lighting in WAR at all yet except for the 1 video that shows off what their lighting will do once its added!  Graphics wise, was never a game seller to me...I like pretty graphics sometimes, but I'm still happy with 2D so what I saw looks just fine but will be even better once the lighting and High Rez textures are in and the AA.

Look at how much better WoW looked when they added in the options to increase texture resolutions what was it 1.5 yrs ago!  Anyway...I'm greatly looking forward to WAR no matter how it'll end up looking but from what I'm seeing right now without all the bells and whistles on...it looks damn good!  Its all about the content to me and "am I having fun!?"
