1. Even the <mod edit> are reinviesting their time portfolios. I have logged a 250% decrease in Gold spam over a 24 hr. period. DOWN 250% from just 9 days ago.! When even the farmers are giving up on a game.. yea.... ( not that this is a bad thing for you poor guys still playing)

2. Zones are entirely empty. I used to be able to log in at almost any time and there were at least 4 Aztel's zones up with people camping both Wagon and Frotress.. w/ constant pvp trying to oust the current group from the xp spot. Keshetta was hot too.. with Dm camps being highly contested. Last few days ive been able to solo farm at all three aforementioned places with the only significant harrasment being form people asking to join me.

In conclusion, no matter how bad a game is.. if there are tons of people in small spaces competeing for shit.. it feels like it might have hope as a game. However, when you log into an MMO and even Cimmerria/Stygia chat is quiet, you know at that moment that the biggest MMo killer of all.. SERVER POP, has killed the game.

RIP Failcom. May you never rise again to burn us with another shitty ass Game. I honestly hope FC goes under as a business and the reputations of all upper management so tarnished that they basically have to retire early. Hey.. this is business after all.

Even though I suspect that AoC will live on for quite some time, proof would be how Vanguard (nevermind if it's better now or not, point is it's still up even after that beyond horrible launch) is still around and people like Avery ^^. A lot of players have justified their gaming existence by hating wow, being mature and waiting (now playing) AoC.

If you've spent the better parts of two years heralding, hyping and 'living' with the idea to one day play a game, it's very hard to just give that up. Just look around at the various people, mainly on the WAR forum around here whom already have a WAR guild without being in the beta. Enough of those people, let's call them fanbois ^^, along with some random stray people can keep an mmo (just) alive for a very long time span.

That AoC is an utter failure, boy do I agree on that ^^.  But I do hope this will send out a clear message to future MMO developers, that gamers, or at least sane gamers (cough) will not tolerate the way Funcom works anymore.

The doom and gloomers...lol, do you guys ever learn?

If every game that died like you guys say they are, then there would not even be any MMos on the market, nor would there be any being made, MMos would be a failed genre.

And yes, even on the WoW boards, almost every day someone will post the same thing, about zones being empty compared to the past and its obvious the game is dieing yet 10 mllion people are playing, while I am sure AoC has far less, just like WoW, it aint gonna die anytime soon.

MMO's as a genre wont die b/c of WoW. Wow has shown people just how lucrative a thing a GOOD MMO can be. Not that I particularly like WoW.. but hey 10 million people do. Everyone wants a piece of that pie, so no matter how many fail.. if WoW continues strong.. MMO's will also continue. Analagous to the Lottery. How many douchebags still pay 5 bucks a weeks hoping for a piece of the action. All it took was one douchebag to win it and now forever will states have ways to generate money.

AoC had (has) potential but I don't think they can turn the game around like Vanguard has. Reason being by the time they get their act together both WotLK  and WAR will be coming out. Players are not going to give AoC a 2nd try when they have two new releases to choose from.

While I agree the game is losing alot of subscribers, why do people feel the need to keep posting the obvious over and over and over and over again. Anyone playing the game and reading the official forums can figure this out.

Next post is hey the sky really is blue,I got proof!

Its funny how many of you on this site think AOC is failing fast when Im in game and the pop is growing rapidly and I have friends i havent talked to since HS that are joining the game. the game is doing very well unfortunately the 20 or so ppl on this site that have quit are making it seem like this game is losing a lot of ppl which is not the case at all. whatever though the game is doing good which is good for the mmo genre in my perspective.

Don't totally agree with you that the game is doing that good. It's not a total flop...The game is different and fun. But it lacks alot once you get level 80. And funcom is excelling at pissing people off with all the changes they have made since release.

My account is still open...so I've renewed my subscription once, but fairly certain I wont be playing by next month. Most my friends have quit playing or barely log in anymore. My girlfriend likes the game as well, but mostly bored now and hasn't even logged in for over a week.

I do wish the game success though. I can definately see myself returning to the game once they actually have pvp fine tuned and balanced, and have added a decent amount of high level pve group/raid content that actually works.

The game is designed to allow players to level to max very quickly.  There is also a lack of functioning max level content.

We can sit around saying the game is goind this or that based on our friends list, but the above does not make for a healthy game retention rate.   Running out of things to do in the first month is a bad omen.
