Hi Guys, I just placed this one reason as the main aspect of the game I dispise. Invisible Walls, and I don't mean the ones that won't let you climb a cliff, I mean the ones that won't allow you to reach a plataeu that is (in virtual) two centimeters above your character. I have had some fun in this game, but it seems like outside the control points you can barely freaking move without getting blocked. It's enraging to say the least, and I hate for this to be my one gripe about this game, but it is absolutely driving me crazy...Not to mention it's effect on travel time. Take one wrong turn, and the wall will set you back 5 minutes. |

I just tried the trial account. I have to say that it appears to be interesting but there seems to be no real focus in the game at least at the early levels. Combat is cool and all but I felt like I was running around and not knowing what the hell was going on all the time. I found one bug that absolutely drove me nuts. Hit me 3 times in one day. Your fighting... something.. and you win but now when you try to run somewhere else it starts warping you back to where you were. You look down and notice your health bar is showing no life, yet your not dead, but you can't do anything. can reload your gun, cant run anywhere, nothing. you leave the game and come back in and it respawns you at a respawn point basically telling you that you had been killed. Oh that was frustrating. Graphic wise, it was pretty nice. UI wise, it was a joke. hardly anything actually ran for cover. your best bet most of the time was just to shoot it out toe to toe. You pick up all these items from creatures and I guess they were just vendor trash as there was nothing that really told me what they did. Ammo in the game was expensive. I mean, to the point that it kept me broke all the time. Just as I would get a little cash, I would need to buy more ammo and be broke again. Overall, the combat didnt seem any different to me than playing a fantasy game and being a caster standing back blasting with spells. If I tried to take advantage of any cover, the creatures would just run right up to you and start fighting again. The UI was just bad all around. While I enjoyed the sci-fi setting, There really needs to be a better tutorial to help you learn what the heck you need to do. Just like eve, it is very confusing getting all that stuff and not knowing what to do with any of it. I think if they could simply fix the UI , It would make the combat a lot more interesting.

You gotta love those invisible walls as 2D trees. |

Funny you should mention that. It's one of the devs top priorites as mentioned in the War College warp-up. I think you make some good points, especially in the begining. The combat become a lot more compelling at later stages. Althought the BIGGEST help for me was when someone suggested changing the abilitiy load out button. It made the UI flow 100x better. |

I'm not sure what you could be talking about. The it looks good to me, I even play with the radar off to be more immersed. I guess I'm just taking my time and haveing fun, and it is actualy good imo to have to look up a hill and find a way up or a hidden path. What do you want? For it all to be in one big flat room with objectives straight in one direction?

I am having fun too, but when my toon can see over a hill (with camera in first person, or eye level) then I should be able to get over that hill. The idea of "invisible wall" is just that, and not hard to understand. As for the comment about "one big flat room with objectives straight in one direction"? Where did that come from, I thought I stated that I wanted more than one direction of access... |

One of my pet peeves with MMOs in general (this isn't just a TR thing, it's true of the bulk of MMOs I've played) is not being able to go over things I could in real life. A slope that I would have no problem with in real life I have to go around until I find the one way the devs intended for me to do it. Or a fence I should easilly be able to climb over completely stopping my character dead in their tracks. It's one thing if it's blocking off an area that I simply am not meant to get to (perhaps because there is no content there). However adding in invisible walls just to make an area seem bigger is stupid. IRL, I am neither agile enough to dodge bullets, nor strong enough to tirelessly swing an enormous 2-handed sword, nor tough enough to get shot in the face/ mauled by a tiger and laugh it off. If I would be able to get over something IRL, my freaking characters online should be able to as well. |

| I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us. |

I used to hate it when I could not jump off a building in SWG, Personaly I don't see any of that in TR, but hay, that's just me. That's probavly why I was ao confused about what you were saying. I do remember once I could not get over a ledg but then I figured it was just sapposed to be steeper then it looked, or matbe they forgot to put walk mesh there. I would suggest you tell them exactly were they might of forgot to put walk mesh and bug it or something. My guess is you have already so cool. |
