Am I missing something, or is there zero customization at character creation? I choose a race and a class, then I hit next and it goes to the character select screen. Can I even change my hair color? Does everyone of the same race look exactly the same now? |

Love is where you give, |
You just don't know how to do it. There are at least 50 slider bars that customize almost every aspect of your character. |

Thanks, I guess I am just overlooking the button. I haven't played since a few days after launch, but I read that customization was currently limited. It seemed a little extreme to turn it all the way off. :) |

You probably skipped it without realizing it. Just push Customize button on the log-in screen. You can even customize your character after creation. |

Yes there were many more options before. They actually reduced the options when they put helms in.. In art terms what it means is they didn't use "attatchment nodes" in the original models. If you've done this type of art work before then you'll know what I mean. If not it might be hard to explain.. Most likely when they bring the options back with the *new* models.. they won't be so much new.. as they will have been done properly. Then again if some of the stories are true.. it really wouldn't be suprising that the people who tried to finish the game didn't have the experience to do it. (edited: basicly an attatchment node is a "bone" you put in various places on a model. As an example on top of the head.. and then you would be able to attach a helm to it. The polygon reduction was their way of getting around this while the models were re-done.)

| "We already have two operating MMOs. We launched a game called Ultima Online in 1997. It's still got hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Then there's Dark Age of Camelot, we also have a situation where we have well over 100,000 subscribers." -Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts. Does it seem odd that UO has more subscribers than the best RvR game on the market? |
