Saying WoW and LOTRO are like McDonalds and AOC is like Steak and Wine? Well... he didn't specify what kind of steak and wine.  I'm thinking Riunite and cube steak.

Will someone please let this Gaute guy know that you should NEVER serve wine before it's time.  And if you're gonna promise good wine... don't serve Koolaid.

More like non-alcoholic wine you would get during Communion and spam dressed up to look like steak. lol

I have to laugh at you seriously. How many of you people have made this threat of class action lawsuits against gaming companies? How many have come to fruition? I will tell you how many.. NONE

But go ahead and try to bring a class action lawsuit against Funcom and lets see just how far you get. My guess would be nowhere.

I like AoC, I am taking my time in game and not rushing anything. My main just hit level 40 and I probably won't be 50 for about another 2 months so by then they should have alot of the features in that for some reason or another didn't make the release date.

One thing that amazes me is how much gamers whine like little children who didn't get that candy bar at the checkout lane in the grocery store. Software development is a tricky business (rightfully so with MMOs and single player games). Sometimes a feature just can't make it in for release. Crap happens and they said that stuff that was promised will be put in the game and they will.

Patience is the key word here and if you have no patience online gaming is definately not for you or anyone else like you.

I agree, but the AOC team should focus talking about AOC without the negative implied remarks about other games. WOW is like mcD's..c'mon there have been a thousand threads on these forums using that exact anology..he could at least have made an original statement  if he felt the need to go there...and you can understand people's reaction to him then saying AOC is like steak. Look at it from both sides if want others to as well.

How about everyone be nice. If you feel you got taken by the hype, you should be blaming yourself if you are a reugular user at mmorpg.com. You guys were warned. However if you feel that your rights as a consumer were violated, then take whatever action you feel necessary. you still wont have a game to play though, which I think is all that people want.
 

Patience is not a necessity for mmorpg players. Open and honest communication about the product your peddeling is. That is what Turbine did well with the LOTRO beta and launch and were still able to sell as many boxes without lying or hiding the state of their product from the people they wanted to buy it. This forced them to release a much smaller world, but they told you that and allowed you to see it for yourself, also allowed for price discounts to compensate while they add the rest of the world. Unless you have blizzard's money..its hard to release a polished, huge game world. My opinion of coarse.

The director is a maroon.  You can go to the gourmet burger joint and buy the new burger they've been marketing only to unwrap it, take a bite and find out it's a McDonald's quarter pounder with cheese in fancy packaging.

Oh, and they forgot to put cheese on the burger.

I just recently came back to LOTRO after playing AoC.  I had encountered a bug that had me falling through the world and dying nearly every ten steps I took.  I'll go back to playing AoC after a while.

As far as AoC being a steak and wine, I'd agree.  Unfortunately, they failed to cook the steak and the wine is a glass of grapes.  And I've never been to a McD's where I ordered a Big Mac meal, and while enjoying the meal they continued to give me more to eat at no charge.

You must have encountered a server stability issue. Where did this happen?

This I really agree with, well said!

Everybody knew what LotrO was going to be like and who they were designing the game for and what was in the game at release and they had a very open beta to show everyone what to expect... AoC is a good game and it will become great and together with WAR and LotrO they will be the tier under WoW in the MMO fantasy market the next years :)

but the AoC director is really throwing stones while sitting in a house of glass...

LOTRO and its fans should take the comment from the AOC guy as a compliment. If your getting mentioned along with WOW from one of your competitors..that is a good thing for this game. He wouldnt have said LOTRO if this game wasnt one of the leaders. AOC has the potential to be or remain one too. Good luck to Funcom and their devs especially.

AOC better than WOW and LOTRO. Gaute must really be a graphics whore or playing the version were not getting. Because AOC sucks balls. Cant even compare the gameplay to LOTRO and WOW. Steak and wine, more like a piece of chewed bubble gum on my shoe. He must not read his community forums because his game is far from gourmet, and the annoying combat system is nothing to brag bout.

Maybe its true what he says, from the way I see it Mcdonalds is one of the most successful fast food restraunts out there.

WoW is the most successful mmo so far, Lotro didn't do half bad either.

Does it mean its a bad game because its compared to mcdonalds? I wouldnt think necessarily.
