is it just me? or do all their new PvP ideas seems very similar to WAR's ideas....

aside from the SUPERDUPER fun of arena's...

. Zone dedicated to PvP with minor PvE influence

.Destructable doors/walls (step up from "wait for the meter")

.Destructable Keeps with siege (both attack and defend)

.with a instanced(BG) version of this... roflcakes (just another way to kill world PvP)

"Bridges are very large and very tall, players should be able to see them from anywhere in the map. They're also totally destructable as well."

in oh so many podcast it seems as though Mark or Paul brag about just how big everything is going to be. Citys, towers, shrines, etc. I personally was very impressed when i saw the bright wizard college podcast and even more impressed when i saw it from ingame footage.

but ask any fanboi and they will say "its done in a original way"

Too weird to live, and too rare to die

I think there is a lot of give and take, to be honest. I mean, sure, WoW may be copying some of WAR's concepts, but I think WAR is also copying some of WoW's concepts, and both games certainly copied (and improved on) earlier concepts. Things like this are inevitable, and signs of progress and evolution within an industry. Very few things are entirely original, and every product owes a lot to those that came before it.

There is also the concept of indepedent discovery. Sometimes two companies can make similar products or implement similar ideas without actually having copied one another. Crazier things have happened.

So, even though I am a big supporter of WAR, I do not begrudge some of the things coming in WotLK. After all, imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Besides, WAR is more of a total RvR solution, whereas WoW is introducing it more as a playground, not a focus.

Doesn't much matter what ideas they try to use because their PvP system doesn't support it.

WAR= PvP anywhere and everywhere gets you rewards

WoW= Arena gets you the BEST rewards, BG's get you decent rewards, and Open world gets you nothing but a 5% damage buff/spirit shards.

So they have to rework their PvP system or they will leave it like it is and the zone will get small amounts of use near the start of the expanion but become the next Halaa. I think the later will be the case since Blizzard is lazy and quite possibly the slowest game devs on the planet.

WoW pvp is epic failure cause 90% of the player base is pve heavy .

So even if they had pvp content it will be left out and not many ppl will do it unless they give very good reward .

My dog ate your homework.

Meh, I don't care..

It's all max level content and besides it's too late. In WAR I can siege and PVP from level 1 and I can level my toons through PvP as well rather than grinding through 80 levels of PvE quests so I can finally, maybe, just maybe do some meaningful PvP at the end.

Too little, too late. If this came out as the first expansion and it involved characters from early levels and PvP XP I'd probably still be playing WoW and yelling how teh awesomes it is. However, as with most other things in WoW, this is simply too little and too late. I really have no idea where those 150 mil $$ / month are going to...

I'm curious to see how WoW tries to push this kind of content back down the levels; as things stand the best they seem to have come up with so far is to make it easier to level to 60 (not a good solution).

Bottom line, I completely agree that WoW's basic design is a real problem for PvP - it's obviously ground-up designed for PvE, and that shows in so many ways which cannot really be fixed without destroying something.  WAR should be much better in that regard!

WAR is also designed for PvE. I fail to see how grinding other players without any interaction other then combat just to get some silly pvp points to buy better gear is PvP. PvP is full interaction not just combat. Politics, guild versus guild, body-looting,...

REALITY CHECK
