yes or no on ORvR servers?  Mark posted at the end of 2007 publically that there would be core, RP, and Open RvR servers.  Recently there was an interview posted where someone from Mythic said they would not be in at launch.  Given the recent announcements of them making content cuts, I'm inclined to believe that perhaps they won't even get around to tweaking different ruleset servers for launch.

To me, this impacts my desire to play more than cities being unavailable at launch, or core classes being left out due to deadlines (let's not play that game, it \had absolutely ZERO to do with making them "great" like the other "great" 20 classes...).

So anyone see any postings about this recently?

p.s. ORvR is not FFA or faction versus faction...it's simply allowing pvp everywhere on the map.  Currently you can only pvp in select areas, which means with the current core ruleset you could conceivably (and likely), run in to enemies you cannot attack, regardless if they're the same level of you or not.  I would love to see an answer to this on one of these Q&A's if anyone at MMORPG  reads this...

Do you have a link to that post by MJ?  I don't remember them ever saying that there would be a server where their wouldn't be level restriction on PVP.

I know there have been players from the community wanting a Mordred type server and a Gaheris type server but last I heard neither was going to be made.

For DAoC only RP and regular servers were in for Launch it was I think about a year later that Gaheris went in and the Dred servers went in I think after that.

"...you mean three philippino women."

I too don't recall ever hearing of ORvR servers.  A link to the quote from Mark would be great.

To be clear, I don't know it was ever specifically said there wouldn't be a level restriction, simply that there would be ORvR servers where pvp could be "everywhere", rather than specific zones inside of zones where people were flagged.  This was a state of the game post form Mark in October:

herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war

"In addition, we’ll be making changes to the RvR (open field RvR FTW!) and Server Rule Set Systems. These changes bring WAR a step closer to fulfilling the promise that “War is Everywhere” while ensuring a great play experience for those that do not choose to engage in RvR 24x7. This is another example of how EA Mythic talks to the community, listens to what they have to say, and takes action. We will continue this process over the next three quarters as we continue to develop, expand and improve WAR."

there was another post in some forum that I'm looking for where he reiterated there would not only be an ORvR server on launch, but also a RP ruleset server.

My original post stems from another interview i heard a couple weeks ago, from I *think* Jeff Hickman, but don't quote me on it, that there would in fact, not be ORvR servers.  There is some debate on whether he thought the questioner meant FFA servers, but regardless, would like some clarrification, and possibly  alink if you've seen any posts from Mark or anyone at Mythic on the subject matter in any of the forums they pst in.

They never promised different server types aside from RP, they where only being discussed, looks that they finally decided against them.

You can read the interview at the Warhammer Alliance site
