Yeah I agree with this. At this point its almost become habit to bash the game. The fact is that truly that entire argument is almost irrelevant at this point in time. The game that is being bashed is not the game that was released and broken in the nge/cu stuff. Its been repaired and at the very least is on par with the old version. The other thing is the statements of "WoW" copies. Its interesting but someone brought this to my attention recently. Collections have become a huge thing in SWG. If SWG is copying WoW why then is WoW about to implement collections for the first time with the warhammer release in order to not loose ground. The fact of the matter is that at this point in time the past is over and Sony has moved foward. YES everyone and their brother will agree that sony indeed did screw up. However they have done what they can to repair the damage and have moved forward to create a game that now people actualy want to play. The fact also remains that it gave me a chuckle when I saw that WoW was implementing something that has become a Sony staple in their games (eq and swg and maybe others I havent' looked..). The last thing is that we are seeing posts from people who are almost confessing that they tried the game now in the present and are enjoying it despite that fact that all the fibre of their being is saying "no I should hate this". Those that enjoy it stay (for now maybe something better will be produced in the future) and those that dont enjoy it leave. The age old arguments are just that becoming such a habit they have lost their power as people read what is almost a drone at this point of people stating the sme thing over and over again. I have a picture in my head of a very borred guy in a room reading from a script who has over the years gotten to the point where its just become habit. If peopel see a positive post the "switch" is thrown and you hear this monotone voice say things like "dead servers" , "sony lied", "NGE sucks" whatever all strewn together in very similar sentances. Its over and was long ago the monotone voices saying the same thing over and over again have become background noise. People make up their own minds. They download the trial and they decide. (anticipates the usual remark that says "if you download the trial you will see for yourself that the servers are dead blah blah blah). Yeah its programmed now I know what is coming next. It no longer something that even makes me and likely others take notice as we have read those statements and have made up our onw minds . The fact is that this game is a decent game. Its fun and its entertaining and its something people want to do. That's just the way it is no saber rattling or forum battles here or anything else is going to change that simple truth. |

Of course you agree with him ummax, of course you do... Lmao... Anyway, I am not holding a "grudge" against SOE just to hold a grudge. Fact STILL remains that SWG:NGE is not a good game. Too many busted systems. You claimed to the NGE is a BETTER game than Pre-CU/CU. You are in the vast minority in your belief. Your credibility stops when about 1/1000 people would agree with your assessment. SWG:NGE still has basic and busted combat, it still has a terribly horrific grind, it still has cookie-cutter "heroics", it still has a busted economy, and it STILL to this day, has numerous and unchanged bugs. The gameplay is nothing more than a poor rip-off of WoW, the pet system was stolen from WoW, the skill-subsets were stolen from WoW. Everything was taken from WoW and done in a lesser form. Everything in the game from Pre-CU exists in a lesser form. The professions are some of the worst in an MMO. The GCW means nothing. The servers are dead. There are instances now. So, I apologize for laughing off your credibility here but for you to say this game is better than Pre-CU is laughable, it's comical. For ever person like you or ummax, there are 10,000 who disagree and think you are off your rocker. SOE isn't evil, there are just simply inept. LucasArts has largely been inept, however, they have at least made big changes at the management level. Good old Smedley is still hanging around with power at SOE, so things aren't going to get any better. You tell me the NGE is and I will take it for what it is, a good laugh. This game is SLIGHTLY better than it was in November of 2005, and then it was undoubtedly the WORST game on the MMO market. Now it is bottom 10 or so, but probably not the absolute worst. The masses have spoken and they agree, SWG in the current form is a joke and needs a serious overhaul, which isn't going to happen because SOE and LA could care less about this game. They don't even market it. People like you, ummax, Gutboy, and Obraik are about the ONLY advertising this game gets. It's called Viral Marketing. You are going out of your way to advertise and promote this game and you will even lie to obtain new customers. Good day- |

See now I would say you had "moved on" if you didnt see players as honestly we are not! (some of us probably wish sony would hire us instead of whatever jobs we have then we would have a job in a game we enjoy playing to boot on top of it all..) seriously though you dont NEED to tell any of the players who are playing now why they should not be playing and about sony's sordid history. If they dont know now and if they are that board they would have to be totally blind in order to not see it. The message has been heard and delivered unfortunately those "fanbois" and "employees" that you speak of are just players that you think are something else. Since I have been called this often enough to choke a horse I will tell you that I'm not the enemy just some person who enjoys posting to a forum about a game that they play. I have heard your message as have others. The repeated attacks that players are enduring as a result of simply liking something doesn't bode well. Basically your anger or reasons are being told to the wrong people. Not only will bashing them over the head with a 2x4 not really help the situation it will probably leave them wondering what in heck they did to deserve the venom that comes by here at times. That venom is uncalled for and just makes me cuckoo and god forbid I should land on a server with them in another game and find out I would likely run for the hills because quite frankly I dont play games with people who appear to actualy HATE players for playing a game that they dont like.

Its a power word you have drawn out to smite the poster with nothing more. So here it goes I DON'T THINK YOU LIE and think you have credbility however I also KNOW that I dont lie and am just as credbible as you are PLUS I think this person is not lying and is also as credible as YOU and myself yeah i bolded it in so that you would read what I said and not make it into an argument. that word is misplaced and if you look I have not even dealt with it in the previous post but I am now. He is NOT lying and is credible because he has expressed an opinion. the TRUTH is deny it all you like some people enjoy this game (myself , this guy and others) while others DO NOT (that would be you and others on this board) everything else is just forum pvp. |

no ummax, you are not as credible as me, not to the vast majority of people. And guess what? All those people who told you that your opinion can't be right or wrong said that not to hurt feelings. Opinions CAN be wrong, and his and yours are. This game isn't just bad compared to Pre-CU (which hand a laundry list of issues itself) but it's bad compared to other major AAA MMO games out there as well. WoW, CoH/CoV, AoC, all blow this one away. |

There was a lot more end game than that. My end game consisted of helping Jedi through the Knight Trials. See, I was a Master Ranger and I was known throughout the Jedi population as being the Ranger who could track down all the rares creatures they need to hunt to progress on their trials. Towards the end, I was getting 1 - 2 Million credits per Jedi to find the Peko Peko Albatrosses, Sintrial Prowlers, etc. I also had a RIS certified Master Armorsmith with whom I created a full workshop and Armor shop. Let's not forget JTL and the fun of doing space quests and upgrading you own ships, etc. This is just some stuff off the top of my head, there was plenty more as well.
