Lol, well you must be right, there haven't been any silence the vet threads being posted recently at all (caution, don't read the title of this thread if you want to stick to your point of view--not you btw Fish, responding to the post above yours ^_^).
I've also just left three other threads with the same level of complaining about vets' complaining--ironically.  In my experience there are usually only one or two of those threads active on any given evening lol.
Anyways, I'm not sure what class you think I believe I'm a part of.  I don't feel particularly persecuted tbh--slightly defrauded a few years back maybe, but not persecuted.  I also don't take "you need to stop talking about how bad SOE is" comments as persecution.  Driving to work provides more persecution than this.
If they threatened me if I wouldn't stop using free speech, well then I'd feel persecuted, but that's never happened.

OK, a person posted a thread to stop whining. And every so often, someone will wander in and say "GET OVER IT." BIG DEAL. But you guys act like there is some kind of organized viral marketing campaign against you (in fact, anyone who does not agree 100% with the idea that John Smedley is Hitler reincarnated and the game is the worst thing since AIDS is labaled a "viral marketer").
There is no organized viral marketing campaign against the "vets", because the "vets" are largely irrelevant. A couple hundred people shrieking for Smedley's head on a pike on an internet forum is an annoyance to them, at best.

No one said anyone is taking any measures to silence anyone. You are just making things up. What Arcangel said was more than the usual number of folks have taken to the boards and posted more than the usual "silence the vets" posts. That's a completely different thing than what you are saying. Now, I am assuming you are bright enough to know this, therefore, you are willfully falsifying the facts; ie, lying.

So I gather English is not your native language. let me explain then. Making posts that express a desire and "taking extreme measures" should not be considered to be the same thing. "Taking extreme measures" usually means resorting to force or authorities. They assume a certain degree of power and/or control.
"Silence the vets" posts are simply whines -- far from extreme measures. Okay? I hope that helps. Sorry I am not being condescending at all. Sorry if you think I am. Just trying to help a brother along, as always.

Sure I did. read up a bit, and I gave you all the answer I feel comfortable giving. I don't want to "name names," since that just might be against the rules of the moderators. They are extremely strict with the veterans. In fact, I wonder if this is merely a none-too-clever attempt at baiting?

 

However, if you are curious, all you need do is read the General Forum and this one, and you'll see quite a few people. By "losing it," I mean people being exceptionally nasty and shrill, as well as short-tempered. If you don't see things as I do, I'm more than happy with that arrangement.
 

I've read the general forum and this one. I see people who are excited about the news, I see people who are cautiously optimistic, I see people who still don't believe the hype, I see people who are indifferent, and I see people using the opportunity to shit on people for no reason. Heya Costanza.  I think you asked me about this as well.  I've just reviewed one of the many threads with the KOTOR MMO announcement. 
 

What caught my attention, among other things, happened to be the number of posts that say things like:

This game is gonna tank cuz it's not going to be a sandbox,

This game is gonna tank because StarWars fans are impossible to please,

StarWars fans who celebrate this as a possible end to the NGE era are small-minded idiots that have no life etc. etc.

Feel free to review the threads for yourself if you like, there are quite a number.  I'm sure you'll see all of these negative responses to the announcement.  To me, they seemed numerous, and some are quite intense.

People appear disturbed by the announcement and determined to cast the game in a bad light, as well as anyone who thinks it might be enjoyable.

There is also a fresh influx of posts that go along with this saying that SOE was not to blame for the disaster that was and is SWG.  

The messages we're being barraged with lately seem to be saying things like, KOTOR online is going to suck, if you think it's going to be good then you suck, if you think SOE screwed up SWG then you suck, and it's actually your fault that SOE screwed up SWG. 

Based on all of these observations, I concluded that some people are disturbed by the KOTOR news, they also come across as very defensive of SOE, and hostile to players.

If you don't see these posts in the numerous threads related to the KOTOR MMO, I don't really know what to say to that.  Maybe you don't want to see them for some reason (shrugs).  I guess if you don't want to see them, you won't.

I'll copy paste just a few of the responses to vets celebrating the KOTOR MMO, so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about:

Here's example number 1 :

"I dont even know why they try, Star Wars fans are some of the most finnicky people on Earth. Making a star wars game that appeals to that crowd is like trying to please your mother in law. No matter how hard you try, there will be bitching."

and now for example number 2:

"And what did you win?

You and others have made SWG Vets and Players look like a ton of whiners who get upset over every damn little thing that happens. You haven't changed anything! Go up to the AoC boards and have a look there, kinda looks like the same thing down here... No you haven't won jack, all some of you have done is make things worse for people who do give a damn about MMO's and the MMO they play.

Anyway I'm sure you or swgtester or one of the other upset Vets will come along, flame me, call me a Fanboi and act like your still nailed to some kinda cross."

Actually didn't you also tell me to get off my cross because I noticed an increase in posts attempting to silence vets?  There's one new thread blaming everyone but SOE for the problems in SWG, especially the players.  Another thread (this one?) was written for the sole purpose of having vet posts locked.  In addition to OP's that attempt to silence players, you have new posters to this forum jumping in and agreeing that veteran players are idiots, are to blame for everything wrong in SWG, and should be silenced. 

No, I've just re-read it all again, no one's making this up; you apparently just refuse to see it, and you seem to be saying the same kinds of things yourself.
