Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG. |

How the heck should I know? Have you been following SOE? Freerealms...a free to play that will have microtransactions. The Agency, not sure if you will need to buy a box but it will also have microtransactions. SOE isn't the only company going this route in the future. Traditional monthly sub MMO's will become fewer and fewer. Bioware has even voice support for the model. Besides. SOE's MMO lineup is completely to the last game sub-par junk, I'm surprised they haven't abandon the genre altogether.
Bye SOE games. I'm not playing any micro transaction games, so SOE just dropped off my radar. If they are successful with this model, then good for them, but I'll be looking elsewhere for MMO's. Really to bad. I would love to see an EQ3. |

Instead, Live Gamer will be implemented as it is in EQII, allowing players to sell their own goods to other players. Milton did add that allowing players to recruit more operatives through a one-time out of game payment was still a possibility |

They aren't. Only PART of the player base likes item shops. Asia started to use more and more item shops but a significant part of the players there don't want item shop games there anymore. People want to know what they're getting. With item shops you don't know. They can change the game as much as they want. In asia it became a common theme to change the cash shop items and make them more powerfull after release. That pissed off a good deal of players who don't want cash shop anymore. I won't buy SoE games if they're cash shop.

It is simple, as long as Smedley is at the helm of SOE the company will continue to produce mediocre games. Until Sony wakes up and fires him, it will not get better, it will get worse. |

Before WOW, there were MMORPG''s. After WOW there were online solo single RPG''s. |

That may be so. Just be thankful some Korean company hasn't tried to hire and get Smedley, McQuaid, and Godager together into one room to design a MMORPG. |

I need to get on my knees and pray that the KOTOR MMO isn't a microtransaction game.
As for EQ3...I don't really know or care. EQ2 was much less popular than the first one because it did not evolve the genre enough, and it did not refine enough of what was already there...If they were to make an EQ3 they would have to get with the times, because I think that that was the ultimate failing of EQ2 |

| There's something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be, desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety? |

This medium of MMO is dead but most players haven't accepted that small fact. We gamers don't need another game of the same thing thats been played out since EQ1. The story and mechanics of the game is way past dated. The simple play format of most games like EQ2 and WOW and the rest are dated. The only real game from a PVP perspective other then DAOC which had promise but is worn out as well was Shadowbane and though it had the best format ever it was underfunded and horribly executed The only game where players truly built their world of play. Guilds and guild politics actually were crucial. Crafting as well was awsome. Bottom line is people don't want more of the same. We want the WOW thats something i've never seen done before. WOW somebody had a fresh thought , concept or idea. The smart developers have already caught on I'm sure. I'm hoping its going to be Warhammer but tbh i have serious doubts that it will be much more then we already have available to us now. As to microtransations? It will never work large scale and the money is in the large scale game. |
