yup, that's about it 9although nothing is really ever perfect, SWG Prime came pretty close, at least as far as concept goes). It was a brilliant, wonderful game, but managed by incompetent and cheap developers who ran it into the ground, and never fixed the bugs they allowed to go live. They also never added the content that they promised. They then shifted blame and, in doing so, completely destroyed it. |

I still miss this game. It had its problems - for me the three were broken quests, rubber banding and combat medics tossing grenades beyond 65 meters (actually capping all ranged weapons at 65 always bugged me). But I always had something to do. Players actively sought out other players but you didn't actually have to interactive directly with one and other. Needed to buy something head to a vendor or the bazzar. You get something and the seller makes something. There was something for everyone. The player economy was great - abet not perfect but so far the best I have encountered (for my tastes anyways that goes for three MMO's I have tried since Eve, WOW and AoC). Rare items that made top of the line gear got top of the line prices. But I never ever was at a loss for what to do in a day. Shoot fireworks off in the town square, get your toon remodeled by an image desinger, go fishing on Dath and then sell the fish as a Fish Monger on Tat, go on a raid to Fort Tuskan or some other planet and drag incapped folks out of the fire. Sell stuff, buy stuff and sell more for a profit. Heck I even liked running around on Lok before they had vehicles surveying. Just running around seeing the sites and sometimes getting killed by mods. It was really a "what you made it" kind of game. But for me it was never boring. |

A lot of problems could have been avoided by that not being so. It created the "unhealable pool" phenomenon that came to dominate all PvP play in the game. However, a tweak here and a tweak there would have taken care of the flaws in the design. SWG's major problem was that it was released virtually untested at the high end not just for "balance" issues, but to see if the specials worked period, not just worked as intended. Instead, SOE opted to "fix it on the fly" and the problem was they got behind the eight ball within about 10 minutes of the servers coming on line, and they never really recovered from that. |

It was matter of knowing when to pop the Muan and when to use the blue milk. Mind poison or fire ? Heal it before it starts ticking. |

Temporary fixes that paled in comparsion to a CM tossing a health or action heal bomb your way. They didn't have mind heal bombs. So mind attacks became the be-all and end-all of PvP combat. Make it so mind pool depletion can't incap you, and the dynamic totally changes. |

It came down to where you wanted your strength to be , And your weakness. That's just one element to me that added a lot of depth to the combat in pre-cu . Sure some imbalances were caused by this , but the trade off was just fine IMO.There were builds that were strong against mind damage and builds that were not . But those that were weak to mind damage were stronger against those built to deal with CM's, Rifleman and dots.My build was extremely strong against them , M.fencer/Pist/doc My dodge levels helped me defend against rifleman mind shots , My doc abilities helped against cms, dots and my dizzy def kept me standing and able to deal with fire's and poisons , However against a straight defense stacker TKm/swords/mbrawler for example I had problems at times.Until I got my 800 tick mind fire gad :) |

Remember when a Carbineer's own weapon was his / her worst enemy? You ended up incapping yourself if you kept on spamming a special. |

Don't forget about the looted damage stim packs. They had the ability to heal mind also. I kept a vendor full of them, but it seemed not to many people understood their usefullness. |
