Apologizing for something that you intended to do in the first place and are of the opinion that it should be done is pretty much holow and a lie.   Why would you want that?

sony guy says we aren't going to change it back
angry vet guy says why?
sony guy says because we meant to do what we did
angry vet guy says what about classic servers
sony guy says we dont think it will make any money
angry vet says Go soak your head I'm still angry and your apology was a lie and insincere cause you wont put any servers in and meant what you did! YOU LIED!

and that is why, unless they do the right thing, they will contunue to fail, and this and every game they make will do far less than it ought to, and they will continue to have the worst reputation in the industry -- because their apologies are meaningless, and they do not rectify their mistakes.

Because I think making such drastic changes to the core mechanics of a game in progress is simply wrong.

I want an appology because that tells me the industry has taken this seriously - specifically SoE. I want an appology because that would mean the likelihood of this happening again would be greatly deminished.

Why would you not want an appology for this?

You continue to do whatever you need to do that makes you sleep at night or whatever.  I will continue to realize that they are no more or less unethical and their reputation is not any better or worse then any other gaming company in the industry and not get ripped off because that's where your headed if you dont wake up soon and realize that no the grass is not greener on the other side of the street.   

Its called treating others with respect and treating your customers fairly. We teach it in elementary school and even more so in business colleges world wide. Their plans underminded our efforts and our subscription money which were being contributed because they were suuposed to improve the game. Not scrap it. They then proceeded to dismiss our concerns and anger and marginalize us as a small fringe community of zealots instead of a mistreated playerbase.

They continue their lies by spouting their garbage that the changes were made primarily to make it easier to improve their game while their own devs admit that it was all about subscriptions. Apologizing about their communication is yet another insult to our injury. It is the equivalent of committing an offense against someone and then apologizing only that you should have told them better that you were going to commit it.

Frankly, they have had their time to apologize and until the lot of them are jobless and others are in their place - only then will the community see any form of decent apology. Until such time, there is too much butt and ego to protect.

How somone could willingly defend the unethical (or try to -- you really haven't succeeded) just because they personally enjoy a game is beyond me.

The fact is that SOE has the worst reputation in the MMORPG business, they haven't had a successful game SINCE SWG pre-cu, and that is due to their unethical behavior, which you have so nicely helped show and prove. Again, thanks for the good work.

Their market share continues to shrink, and that's a good thing for all concerned.
