I just found a new RPG out that is not an MMORPG but would make a good MMORPG. I am having so much fun atm, thought I would never get this feeling again about an RPG since FF7, non mmorpg.

www.taleworlds.com/  The game is called Mount and Blade, it is really sweet. The community is even involved in making mods for it where you can play different styles. Located here for the mods. www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php Just make sure the mod is the same release as the current version. Newest is 0.960.

Have fun playing, it is soon to be released in Sept. If you buy it now you save a few bucks and it is only $25 now and you get the license and free upgrades for future updates.

Play it and tell me what you all think. This game reminds me of a few older console games and including one PC game Oblivion. I think it is a mix of Inindo style gameplay (old snes game) and Oblivion comes to mind.

I don't like the graphics that much, but the concept artist is quite good:

Gameplay > graphics, I don't get the debate over graphics needing to be awesome to have a good time. This game has great graphics for what it has, the in game battles etc are all done really nice. The world map you run around on is a map to move on, don't need much there.

The gameplay is top notch, so graphics to me don't even matter much. It doesn't have to be Crysis graphics to be fun.

LOL  ok, granted I was not attacking you or anything but ok. I was voicing my opinion that the first thing you mentioned was about graphics. Like I said gameplay will always be first over graphics and anyone who says otherwise isn't playing the game for what it is.

The shooting arrows from your horse is hard. I almost won agains 13 bandits though. But I still wear cloth lol.

It used to be free to play , Never thought it was gong to be released for retail . I tried it out years ago , It actually looks like it's come a long way since then. IS it worth the 25$ in your opinion ? Do they still have a free to play option?

Edit-nvm I hit the download button , which answered my own question . They do, Try before buy.

OK...had to come back and say thank you!   This game rocks.   This is how I think combat should be in a game like this and even MMORPG's.    The archery from horse back is killer!   Love it!   The different weapons combat from horse back and non-horseback is actually fun and addictive!   I actually purchased the game I liked it so much.   There is tons of armor and weapons options and though it has levels they don't mean nothing...game is skill based!   Love it!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to see some more maps for combat...like some ruins and such or stonehenges and things.    Had an awesome battle against some Mongol looking guys - some on horseback and some on foot.   They had sacked this village and you can join up with the towns villagers and fight them off.   Was so awesome!   Seriously - I am very impressed with what I have seen so far.

OMG I was being chased by two mounted bandits and I shot their horses out from under them!  LOL.   The horses falling and throwing the riders looked very realistic.    The cool thing is this is still in beta!  

I understand it can be easily modded as well.   My game runs with everything maxed and still screams no matter how many are on the field of battle.   I am thinking of adding my own models and skins with a few more poly's to see if it can handle it.   It'll take some modifications of the code to and some added physics for cloth and hair...but OMG...I think it will look awesome.   Better than AoC and even Oblivion.    Cool thing is the combat....it is going to be hard to master.   Very easy to get the hang of that is for sure...but it actually takes skill to time your swings and then swing at the right level to make good contact.    I made a fraps of the combat and will have to post it.

I am definitely looking forward to playing it some more.
