Well i was excited that they were making leveling easier. What i didnt know, was that they were doing it through a "Vitality point system". A system that will make leveling fast and easy for a couple days, then its back to the old grind that was before Gracia. And all these stories of raid bosses not leveling vitality is just discouraging. I dont regret buying L2 again and playing on my old account, because it did help me get 5 levels in about 5 hours of play. But this is just dumb, they should have added some fine print saying "Gracia patch making it easier and faster to level *BUT just for a short amount of time*" |

I agree, it was somewhat of a let down, mainly because it takes like 4+ days of rest to get back to 4 vitality if you don't kill raid bosses... However, I joined a pretty good sized clan with a lot of helpful members... and grinding with other newbs is pretty fun. |

I don't believe it takes that long to get back to 300%. I do know that it takes about a day to get back to the 200-250% xp increase bonus. Once my bonus gets low, I switch to my sub class, or an alt character, which is considerably lower lvl than my main. Once you have xp'ed at a high lvl using the 200-300% xp bonus, it's hard to lvl without it -- or worth it. But all around great system to have included, though I do wish the bonus lasted a bit longer.. |

There's always going to be one. Listen. If you go out and grind away from mobs, yes it going to dwindle away to nothing. It's really not that difficult to manipulate the system. Make a friend. Do a simple raid boss. Boosts your vitality quite a bit. Do kama daily. Keep in mind complaining about one of the most grueling leveling games out there becoming way way easier and not having everything handed to you is kind of.. Well you know. Edit: I've never been below 2 vit.

i wasnt expected to be handed the levels ... nobody was ..... just making it easier rather then spending 3 hours to get from 39- 40 (yes it ttok my 3 hours with 0 vit) is ridiculous. |

Not to come across as bashing but the patch notes were out for weeks and it was a hot topic of discoussion on the offical forums for a while and it was on the public test server for about a month. I know not everyone looks at that sort of thing but the info was out there. I believe I posted the patch notes here on this site at least 2 weeks ago with the details of the vitality system. The mechanics of the vitality system were no secret. July 15 this site posted an interview with the basic outline of the system. I took a toon from 37 to 38 in about an hour the other day. Before the patch I was lucky to get 10% an hour with full buffs. Works fine for me. You can't go from level 37 to 38 in an hour in WoW I can promise you that even with their rest system which is essentually the same thing. The longer you stay logged off the more "rest" you get translating to a longer XP bonus. Same in Vanguard or EQII. I know for a fact you can not do level 37 to 38 in Vanguard in an hour fully rested. I just unsubbed from the game last month.

In all honesty the vitality system is very gimmicky by this i mean you have to really plan your xp well if you wanna keep the vitality up, RBs wont get you to lvl 4 vitality BUT they will stop it going down almost all together, so if you are lvl 4 you can do Hero Rift for instance by the time you hit the RB the vitality you have spent will be compensated on the RB hence keeping it up. But dont really expect to go to a RB with lvl 1 vitality and get to lvl 2 or 3 by killing it, it wont happen. The way i see it the vitality system only really benefits lower lvl and high end lvl characters, at lower levels you can just go around doing RBs which will give you an insane amount of XP, and will get you to 40 in no time tbh even with the downtime of trying to find a RB party i found it to be faster than just going for a grind in between and loosing 1 lvl of vitality. At the end levels, because the grind really starts getting to you, having the 300% means you will get 3-4% in an hour of good XP instead of 3-4% a DAY so you can change between Main-Sub like someone suggested. Mid - Levels I would take the vitality as an added bonus, and not really worry too much about it , having to sit for 4 days to get 300% for about 1hour is not worth it i can make 5 times more XP by keep on killing during the "sit out" days. Long story short, was the vitality system a disapointment? Well i dont think so, its actually very good and least it gives you options, If im busy at work for 2-3 days and cant login for some reason after those 3 days ill have a bonus, over night you get at least lvl 2 which is not that bad as well. And looking at the big picture you now have common items which are awesome imo. |

And of course players said "oh no, I'm on pts and it's much easier". It is meant for casual players. If you are a casual player then you will enjoy a much faster leveling experience. If you want to play for several hours per day then you are going to see that you don't have as much vitality. |
