Just wondering, has anyone had any luck getting Warhammer online to run on linux or Mac?

I run linux and would love to play and give them my money if it will.

Cedega is Crap and wants money. Linux/Mac do have Wine which runs well, but typically takes some programming to get each specific game to work as intended, etc.

I dont know.. didnt have any problems with it. Did you actually try it?

It's that or you have to boot in windows to play.

I've heard such prior at the moment, the "we have no plans to develop a linux client" etc etc speech.

However, I know some people have gotten a bit of the game working in beta as I see in wine's appDB....so I guess that answers the question of "warhammer will run wine whether they intend it or not". Didn't mean as a flame, guess I'll have to wait and see.

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=13139&iTestingId=30644 seems to indicate its about 80-90% there which would mean a few weeks after release it will be ready to go.

if you want to play war simply partition off 100 gigs install xp or vista and war on it and have at it friend, if you want to run windows games you run them in windows =D  and since 99.9999% of games are windows only well you get the idea!

Above link is app database for wine (wine is not an emulator), for warhammer online.  Looks like models don't show...yet.

If you''re going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you''re going to be locked up.

Thats why I dont use Linux and Mac.... PC are for gaming as well as anything else.  Yeah you can get things to run on Linux and Mac but im not sure how well they will run.  I never really understood why they havent made games compatible on all systems.   Its probobly not worth the time to make them all work and thats why they pick windows as the main os because its the most widely used.

Apples are just overpriced,  You can build a better PC for a fraction of the price.  Im not down with flashy os's when i  upgrade to Vista soon it will end up looking like windows 98, just how I have it in XP.

Playing FFXI. Waiting for Fallen Earth and SE new MMO.

Some games actually run better in linux, the scheduler is better, lighter overhead, no malware, spyware, etc.  Also, once they fix the big kernel lock, it'll boost my fps a few more, I'm hoping 10 =).  Really, if you have a machine laying around, I really encourage everyone to download ubuntu, install it and try using only linux for a week.

It'll blow your mind!
