"No beer on the Altar"

I was able to play a few missions of Warhammer Online at Origins Gaming Convention 2006 in Columbus.  So far, the game is looking great.  Missions were fun.

They introduced a new concept of public missions.  For example, at Origins, the public mission was for the Orcs to bring a Giant ally 100 kegs of beer.  All PC Orcs could partipate.  Once completed, the reward was based upon the amount of your particiapation.

Graphics were comperable to all top level MMORPG out today.  PvP was supported in certain areas.

Staffers at the convention indicated they are looking at a Fall 2007 release date.  They also indicated Beta will be opening soon.

"Human stupidity knows no bounds" ~Albert Einstein

What did these rewards range from? Say did you get a new weapon? Piece of armor? In Game currency? Some of the "bling" you can decorate the character with?

I am looking for any detail I can get my hands on, I so want to know a lot about this game, as if I dont know tons about it from following it since last November as it is.

You know, all I hear about this game is how damn fun it is.

Then we get these IDIOTS who lower WAR's ranking on this site solely because EA buys Mythic.

I can't wait for this game.  Fall 2007?!  I really hope they can get this game out a good 6 months earlier than that.  Maybe with some extra resources courtesy of EA its a possibility.

Now playing Vanguard, but drooling for WAR

Ea split mythic now Half of their staff is now working on UO hum guess Ea will get their hands into warhammer and screw it up.

they merged design teams .

WoW is dumb'd down mmorpg striped of all it's complexity designed for people who lack the ability to play in a mmorpg that requires any king of thought skill or talent..

all in all war will work same as wow. Nothing new nothing special just rideing the tails of a magor franchise aka GW. Same as wow working off blizzard. If they can daoc then all the rvr fans will only have 1 or 2 games to pick to play rvr. Personally ill get the game probly wont play it long if pvp options arnt allowed in. Meaning guild vs guild warfare options or pvp servers. Its cool maybe the daoc team can help the ageing new uo get better.

What i see comming that may stub eas toe is canning daoc and uo. Then dumping resorces into war even more. Talk about ea bashing then and the hate that it will bring to all war forums.

You are making assumptions and speculations. Nothing in the News article you keep bringing up said anything about splitting any teams in half. All it says is Mythic is going to be helping with UO. And as it has been stated MANY times since the EA announcement, Games Workshop is still the controlling entity over WAR, they have to approve everything that goes into WAR, not EA.

As for the OP's topic, glad you had fun, I was one of the staffers at the convention. :) We'll be hitting a lot more similar conventions over the coming months so watch for us to hit an area near you if you missed Origins. :)

thanks for posting about this matter
sorry for making assumptions and speculations we as in me and my guild in Daoc have been hearing talks about EA-Mythic turning the game into a free game and droping down to 2 servers we been hearing alot in the community on percival.

The thing is with the post is "Mythic is helping EA With UO"  now if you have your devs looking into another game how much time is he looking at the game he is working on? Mythic canno't Hire more dev's since they got bought out. Yes GW holds the say in what goes into the game and thats fine.

To be blunt and not to beat around the bush EA has a bad track record with MMO's and companys they buy
and since history tends to repeat it self it dont look good for mythic. I hope MJ is wright and all of us are wrong

Next time the WAR show comes to Ohio agian i will have to check it out to see how it is
I hope it is a good launch for you all at mythic!
