The folks at IGG have announced that their game Myth War will celebrate Christmas in a spectacular way. Their GMs will be putting on a full day of fun, games, events and prizes on Christmas day itself.

Myth War Wishes Everyone A Merry Christmas In A Spectacular Way!

(Sunnyvale, CA - December 22, 2006) - Myth War is planning a very special Christmas, and everyone is invited to join the fun! On December 25th the GMs (assisted by sentinels) will host a full day of fun, games, activities and -- best of all -- prizes!

The fun begins December 24th when the GMs send out their holiday greetings to all players. They'll also be issuing special invitations for exciting activities. (We're not telling what activities or where they'll be! Join us and find out!) Rewards will include plenty of Fireworks, Trainer Devices, Devil's Blood, Stones of Dream and Double Gold Rumor Scrolls -- everything needed to make your Christmas wishes come true!

This was a COMPLETE flop.

The event was bugged to the point of being unplayable. It had clearly been released without any form of testing.

First, the Santa event took  3 days to get (more or less) fixed, with many questions still bugged, or in such bad english that you cannot understand them.

The (3 days) Xmas event proper was first claimed on the main website to be fine and 'have been well received', while it was NOT working at all in at least one server. It was eventually  updated near its end, with an announced extension of 3 days to compensate players, but it was actually only extended for 1 day, and STILL bugged: playable, but the main prize (Xmas pets) was not working...

From the players point of view, it was a complete waste of time, and a lot of aggravation.

From IGG point of view, I suspect that it will be a bad memory, made worse by their PR cock-up.
