I want the free updates, free expansions, free content to go away in leiu of a "click to move", grindfest filled, asian flavored heros, dressed in mini-skirts and have kittens hanging off their shoulders.  It may be a broad assumption but most, not all, free MMO's out there are like this.

I wouldn't play CoX if they made it free honesty, it hinders content growth as well as usher in a new class of MMO players that I simply can not stand.  

LMAO!  CoH/V already has mini-skirts (lots of them) and kitten shoulder decorations (pandas too)!

not true, that isn't gonna happen if the game is good enough and apparently worth every single penny. i don't doubt that it is, but you can't say that it wouldnt be nice if CoH were free!

I think it would be nice if it were free and just because you can't afford to play CoH doesn't mean that you shouldn't ever play video games!

mabey 5-8 dollars a month is good. Most games are $10-$15 a month that is because they are GOOD this is only worth it if you have G vs E edition.

One quick point - for those that don't know, NCSoft has full custody of CoX now that Cryptic Studios has moved on to other things (like the Marvel Universe MMO) meaning that even if u only have 1 version of CoX you can now access the other and pretty much the Good Vs. Evil edition of this game is the only one your gonna find on the shelves of retail stores now and you can save yourself some money if your a current player and upgrade to it for a small 10$ online at there website..

I for one thing that it is well worth it to pay the 10-15$ a month(if your not cheap) and I LOVE CoX especially for anyone thats into Comic books and stuff like that will definitely love this game.  No Spamming, No Friggin botting, People playing P2P tend to be a lot more maturer but not all the time and among other things as well.. Plus the odds are the Avg. Person probably earns at least 2-3 paychecks a month meaning that 10-15$ will be well earned back by the time the next monthly(30 day) fee is due, but if u really are that cheap and looking for lower quality stuff(including the never ending spamming, Bots, in-game ads, Possibly spyware and all other bad stuff that free play games cant stop) then F2P games are for u then, I mean come on what do u expect to get for free play lol But let me explain it to you this way people and hope you'll have a better understanding...

For P2P (Pay to Play) games that 10-15$ a month will grants u access to all services they provide and anything they create for the game like items, costumes, ETC.. While F2P(Free to Play) Games are free and can be played all the way through, BUT if u want any of the good stuff your gonna have to goto there item malls(or whatever system they use) and more then likely there's a pretty good chance that your gonna spend more then the 10-15$ we P2P players do.. So Which would u prefer?  Having access to everything, everyday, all day/night for 30 days for a flat monthly fee of 10-15$ in a P2P game(not to mention that all Game Expansions for CoX are free downloads so the only thing u pay for really is the monthly 30 day fee)?  Or Pay for items, weapons, Armor/Clothes, Pets, ETC.. in a F2P game Item mall(or whatever system they use)anytime of the day or night?

So come on people do the math here, I really think the P2P games(money wise) are a better value but thats just me and I dont speak for everyone else.. But if your really looking for a TURE(and the only ture) free to play game, then I highly recommend Guild Wars www.guildwars.com/  The only time u pay for this game is when you goto a retail store to buy it and after that its free for life.. All items, weapons, armor/clothes, ETC.. are all free as well but there are at least 4 expansions out now for this game so u will have to buy those.. tho each expansion has its own story not linking to the other including new classes etc., but if you want more Quality gaming then games like City of Heroes/Villains www.cityofheros.com/, Final Fantasy 11 Online www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml, World of Warcraft www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml, and yes even Guild Wars are few really great  titles to look into.. Only other thing that I gotta say about this whole deal people is that dont judge it until you have tried it for yourself, that simple really 

No i do not think it should be free but do like the idea of the free trials for ppl can decide if it is worth the $15 dollars a month so i feel the free trail period should be longer so a month instead of 14 days . because i know it took me atleast  a month for me to decide that i liked the game now i play 5 out 7 day aweek and weekends  i try to do 2 to 3 task force

I do not agree City of Heroes should be a Pay monthly. With us paying month = the free expansions and better graphics and how they keep building on it

so i totaly think we should pay $15 id pay more if it made the expansion faster!

CoX would fail miserably as a F2P with it's current design as there's no sellable assets to make any revenue off of except for one wedding package.

Would be nice if it was F2P, but not at the expense of complete failure.
