Neocron 2 upgrades to Neocron Evolution 2.2 with new additions and changes to PvP and PvE systems.

Neocron 2, the unique Cyberpunk/Science-Fiction real-time combat MMORPG, reaches its next evolution stage. Neocron Evolution 2.2 provides a complete revision of the Player vs. Environment (PvE) and Player vs. Player (PvP) combat system. In close cooperation with the Neocron 2 community, all aspects of these core systems have been reviewed and adjusted accordingly. Neocron Evolution 2.2 is a free update; all that is needed is an active Neocron 2 game account.

On the occasion of the soon coming release of Neocron Evolution 2.2, all inactive Neocron 2 game accounts will be reactivated for 30 days with no charge as of the day of release. Additionally, a new payment method via PayPal will be available for credit card users.

Where did you find this announcement?  Because I looked on the Neocron main site and forums and I can't find any updates or announcements of the sort.  If someone could point me in that direction, that'd me great.
thanks

Good a new payment system. I found there old way rather shady. It was run by some strange company and site I never heard of.

I just HAD to sign up and respond to this.

It took Reakktor over a year to finally give in to players' requests for PayPal to be instated as a payment provider, during which time Click2Pay lost them many customers (who wanted to pay but couldn't).

NC 2.2 is currently in the early stages of developement and testing and is basically being beta tested by the paying customers.

The "close cooperation with the Neocron community" makes me laugh. Any and all criticism is censored and forum accounts are being banned from posting. Player accounts are being banned for asking questions about dubious GM practices (mutterings of corruption are heard). The game has problems with memory leaks and frequent crashes, is riddled with bugs (many of which have existed since beta, before the release of the first version) . These issues are apparently NOT being addressed during this "next evolution".

Due to the payment problems and dissatisfaction with Reakktor's progress in making the game stable, the server populations are at record lows. Many players (myself included) have turned away, vowing not to give another cent to a company that simply refuses to listen to it's customers until it is too late (then creates over-complicated solutions that do not address the issues the customer's have been requesting for years). Promises made by Reakktor before the last two "evolutions" have not been kept and are being ignored during this one.

As for 30 days free, this place is the first I have heard of that, there has been nothing mentioned in any of the game's official channels.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Agreed.

As much as I have always loved the FPS and Sci-Fi setting of Neocron, the game is just too buggy/slow to overlook.

The end-game is fun, the community is nice, but there are too many issues.

For old players, the bugs and frequent issues kill you.

For new players, good luck. The game is the slowest level you will find since EQ.

EDIT: Any idea when the 30 days starts? I want to see if they fixed any of my complaints or anything at all xD

Neocron 1 and 2 were both the right games, made by the wrong people. I'm surprised they're able to limp along, much less try to improve anything. And when it comes to the Neocron devs, anything they tout as an improvement is more than likely not.

Goozex.com Try it, you'll like it.

Don't have sigs with a cheerleaders butt swinging in it, or the prudes in the Age of Conan forum section of mmorpg.com will demand the mods have it removed.
