it is a sad day for the mmo community and wo fans all around.  there were only 2 games i looked forward to this year, wo was one and matrix is the other.  i love the story and history of warhammer, and to have it in a mmo would have been the best.  i was only soso on the graphics i loved everything but the player models, espically the humans, but damn its all gone :(...  i have played a lot of mmo's lately and well most suck.  the only one currently out i really enjoyed is asherons call, but its changed so much for me as to not be as fun as it once was.

oh and about horizons, that game Was supposed to be rockin some 7years ago when i first heard about it.  the ideals, the drawlings, the story all rocked.  then crap happened and the game was ruined.  i reported so many bugs in beta and only very few were fixed by retail. they kept responding will lookinto it or fixed in later build.  why even have a beta if they arn't going to fix the bugs we report.

well here's hopes for a woresurrection  .

'The Lord of Murder my ass, I should be the Lord of Murder'

Yeah i used to play this game with a ruler, some dice, the lead minitures and some homemade buildings. I loved it and then i went on to play warhammer 40k. This was the only game I decided that i HAD to play this year. Im going to go cry myself to sleep now.

I agree on Ultima Online,  thats exactly the problem,  EA doesn't have a great track record in online games and if Ultima X is not great, it will only be in competition with themselves.

It has been months since they have given any signs of life.  They were a no-show at E3 and they closed the Texas offices, where the game was being done.

I would love them to surprise us with a release like they did with the original announce of the game.  But I think that after Motor City, Sims Online and Earth and Beyond, I sincerly doubt it will happen ....

And so another game with actual potential goes down the drain... i don't personally think there's a problem with the market per se, it's the lack of interesting inovative games. Build worthy games and they will come.

Yea there will be more to come. Most will fall due to the picky ass player base. People need to realize that no game will be perfect or not have issues. But im sure they will just cuss and cry cancel on the boards like they always do.

I'm not suprised. The graphics shown on this website for the game were horrific. Everyone looked like crack addicts. The environmental graphics were hardly better. I cannot understand how someone could claim they were on par with EQ2. The environmental pics for EQ2 are far far FAR better... though the characters do look plastic.

In anycase I was not suprised to see this canned. I will be suprised if Wish ever makes it out as well.

"Wheres the violence....wheres the bloodspray?!" -Zorak on the Brak Show

Ok first off I am pissed first TFLO now this...can they not release something that I am trully excited about??

All of you people saying the graphics suck you really need a lesson in gfx. Were you looking at the model animation section or soemting? cause those are not finished skinned models and are in the animation stages where they are not through all of the engine effects...dumbasses

Download the video somwhere teh E3 one and see that they are up to date just like EQ II, and there scenenery and water and all that were comparable to FPS's like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bye the eye of course not technically.

I was really hoping for this just like TFLO it was one of those genres and styles I liked and have grew up liking. Hell the AI alone was something I drooled over and the fact taht you could join the militia and be muskets the fact that monsters started there own civilizations there was spawn points and stuff like that there was a wildlife..something you would expect in a world. THe dev logs really showed that information off.

I can't believe this though this is such a suprise I am literally in shock!!! i saw the e-mail from mmorpg and was like "what are they on...they just released news about the new classes"

But bam! it's true!!

GAHHHH!!!

So now my list of what mmo's to decide on is ever so smaller got it down to 5 now 2 more or gone :::^|::

Today South Dublin, tomorrow the island, the day after; the world. We shall all be philosopher kings

This is such an incredible shame.. My next MMORPG was going to be a toss up between World of Warcraft and Warhammer Online, and having read all about the proposed class systems of WO, I think it might have won. WoW will be monumental, there's no doubt about that, but at the end of the day I love non-level based RPGs - such as WO would have been - and there were a load of ideas proposed that would have enriched the market to no end.

For those of you who never did, read the interviews with Robin Dews at IGN - ALL of them, and see what the MMORPG community will now be missing.

Oh, and the people who think the graphics were crap really need to do their homework. The graphics were amazing - look at the videos and screenshots of the monsters if you still can, the level of detail is excellent. Yes the faces needed work, but hey, now they'll be ugly forever.

The graphics were good, its just none of the models were particularly pretty from a visual standpoint.

I didn't really care much for this game, but it's still sad to see a game that had 2 years of developement get cancelled.
