Im really disapointed with GamesNetwork for pulling the plug on this. Though I'm not surprised since they have done this kind of thing in tha past with other ventures. They simply took to much on imho. Shame really since this was looking like a good alternative to some of the other games around.

The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander. |
Well, knowing Games Workshop, they wont lie to you.
So the game is actually really cancelled in the current form.
But...that been said, they may very well have re-hired some folks(maybe the same) and make them deliver the game in secrets and all, this is the ways Game Workshop handle stuff on a daily basic. That's been said, I pretty much doubt it this time, but, who know, if you want to dream on, why not, just dont think it will happen, it is a possibility, only a dream... - "Coercing? No no, I assure you, they are willing to bring my bags and pay public transportation just to help me, it is true!'' |

Apart from EVE and UO, this is the only other MMORPG that really appealed to me.. On paper anyway.maybe now i'm going to be 'forced' to buy that boring level tread mill piece of shit WoW. Wait i take that back, i'd rather choke than play World of Borecraft. |

ARRRGH!!!! This is a complete disaster to the gaming community as a whole in my opinion. I am so tired of the cute, "let's not offend anyone", parsley-esque (did I just say that?...hmm...well, yes I did) games that are coming out. This game had the potential (imho) to be THE mature fantasy game. Dark, dreary, forbidding atmosphere and an already developed storyline and player base. I join many of posts here in expressing my disappointment in the cancellation of this game. That being said, when are these companies going to realize that adding yet another "medieval" fantasy game to the mix of what is already a saturated market may not be the best idea. (I know that's contradictory because I wanted to play the game- getting to my point now). This game would not have been cancelled, methinks, had they had the forsight to develop Warhammer 40k online instead. I am no fanboy of either WH, but have played 40k once or twice and it really is wide open to MMOG. Not only is it futuristic, but it is also savage, uses technology along with brute force, and has many factions. However, the single reason I would play that game is that (listening Devs?) IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT! Give me a good horror MMO, a good wild west MMO, a good 1930's gangster MMO. In other words, give me some options. City of Heroes is not a ground-breakingly great game. I play it and I like playing it. I like it because it is different. WH online was different in that it was darker than most games coming out now. I am sad that it wont see release. /Rant complete.

Is there anyway I can get this off my skin without betraying my cool exterior? |
I have to admit, I think that Sega publishing "The Matrix Online" could be a fair risk however, doing another online project could be a big step for them. So in this way, I am happy that the Warhammer Online game MMORPG is a good thing to cancel. (Was Dawn of war or Firewarrior really that popular anyway?)
