Cynical? Me? Never.

Like back in teh glory days of EQ. I tried EQ2, WoW, LoTRO, and probably more that just sucked. I'm tired of soloing. I want to interact with people! I'm looking for a game that practically enforces grouping, and one where you can actually find a group.

You could try Final Fantasy XI. From lvl 10 onwards pretty much everything is grouping. It can be difficult to find groups though, but that depends heavily on the class you play.

Although the game has been out for 5 years now, it should still be possible to find new groups since a new expansion that brought along new jobs has just been released and a lot of people are lvl'ing those.

The best game for teaming that i've found is the city of heroes/ city of villians games.  I've seen people form teams in the tutorial and its easy to find teams all the way to lvl cap.  I just cancelled eq II, i could never find a team at all.

Eve. We got so many people who are disappointed that they cant solo large parts of the game that its not funny anymore.
If you go out into openpvp-space here you will die in many very cruel ways. If you want to join a corporation (guild) people will often not demand a minimum on skillpoints, but that you can work in a team...

Hope that can help you, but be aware that this game is a) cruel to everyone (not only newbies. oh well, a bit crueler to newbies perhaps) and b) you will perhaps not see any good grouping in the first month while you learn the basics of the game. After that, if you want, you can go into areas where a lone player is absolutely dead meat without a large group of friends helping..

Eve is often called the "best looking chatroom ever" for a reason btw.

Dofus is a pretty well-done 2D FTP turned based game.  Good for a change of scene...

Try Dungeons and Dragons Online. It pretty much enforces grouping but 95% of the quests can be done with a single group. The remaining quests take two groups. The biggest drawback is that many dont like that is almost entirely instanced. Similar to Guildwars, there are meeting areas where everyone can meet and intereact, but all the adventures are done in instances. Try the trial, it cant hurt.

#1  EVE Online.  If you are not in a Corp and Grouping, well it is lonely in space, very lonely.

#2  CoH / CoV   Yes, you can solo, but why would you want to?  It becomes difficult and counter-productive past level 20, or so.

#3  Guild Wars.  Has a large PvE component, but the PvP is all Group based and much of the PvE for the best skills requires grouping.

#4  DaOC.  Also has a Solo freindly PvE environment, but the PvP environment is really Group Mandatory.

None of these are the EQ1 Group-n-Camp the mob spawn sort of thing.  Nearest analogy to that sort of play would be late-game Anarchy Online.  But why would you want to go back there?
