you would think it would abene found out if they was really lieing by now or not so yea best bet is to belive them at this point and hope to god there not lieing but with no pre orders or money beign spent to try the game then .. that kinda be stupid i they was lieing so hence there not at least we will know ASAP

vaporwarea product that has been advertised but not yet released so any mmorpg thats in dev is vaporware so whats the problem?

What people mean by "substantial" is that they want to see some updates with SUBSTANCE. I.E. some vids of the UI, or of actual gameplay, or maybe they actually let someone from IGN or another reputable media outlet play the game and give a review of it at it's current state.

Screenshots can be created, and can be mock ups. Vids of fly overs and the such can be created, and can be mock ups. Vids of characters in the world with the UI on screen fighting mobs and other characters, and maybe a vid of characters in the world talking to NPC's getting quests and such could lend some levity to the "darkfall isn't vaporware" arguement.

All I'm saying is this, if Adventurine has a real game, and has a GOOD game then they should be showing the world and making sure people BELIEVE.

Please, don't come here with the BS arguement that they do not want to give their "competitor's" insight into their game mechanics, because frankly that's a lie. Unless somehow a game designer can see a video and magically intuit the coding that went into the game then I'm pretty sure Adventurine is safe. Also, they don't necessarily have competition in the "open PVP" or "Hardcore PVP" arena of gaming. All of the games currently in development are of the "casual PVP" niche so they can show all they want.

I'm not here to say whether or not DF is going to release or not, I'm just trying to explain my view on the "substantial" comments.

I just wanted to give this old OLD thread a friendly bump since the actual release is starting to seem like a possible reality to stand by to stand by for a possible maybe on.

I'm taking bets on whether MMORPG.com's Darkfall release date ends up getting changed from "2008" to "2009" after the New Years ball drops on December 31.
