Does anyone else think that healing in WoW has gotten way out of control?

Almost every class can heal.  If yours can't, you'll need a 'bot for any successful PvP.

High end 2-man arena battles often go on for 30-min+ between teams with solid healers.

In battlegrounds I can easily do 30k+ dmg to one character with one healer on him and not get a kill.  There's no particular reason that I should be able to win 1vs2 but if I'm fast and good and much better geared, why shouldn't I be able to take one of those two down if they aren't on top of their game.  Sure... kill the healer first but... often they are both healers and killing paladins and druids quickly is almost impossible.  It only gets worse with more people because even if I'm in one group fighting another group, the healers always seem to follow my target.

This wasn't such an issue without resilience because burst damage was out of control back in the day and healers couldn't necessarily click fast enough.  That would have been more fun if they had left out the high-tier burst/spell damage gear.

I don't really care about PvE, it's silly there too, but so are other things like 'taunting' and 'pulling' and fighting one group while the other 3 groups watch from down the hall...

What does healing represent (in fantasy terms or whatever)?  I've never seen a movie or read a book or even a comic book with anything like it other than the occasional regens (Wolverine, Highlander).  How has it gotten to such a ridiculous extreme?  If there was a WoW movie healing would look stupid...

Currently, it's a game killer for me.  I don't like for my characters to be completely dependent on healing and I don't like playing a healer.  I'm not saying that my position is right or anything, I'm just curious how many like having that aspect of the game at such a high priority.

what you are seeing is the after effects of the expansion.  paladins for the horde and shamans for the alliance both healing classes.

i have 2 priests (one on each side) and it interesting to see that tanks are harder to get than healers.  its also interesting to see that there are very very few druid healers around and quite a few shaman and paladin healers.  i personally dont have a problem with it because i am shadow spec and i can dps for groups.

its not getting out of hand but it will remain a bit unbalanced for a while.  when the new expansion comes out there will be too many tanks/dps because of the death knights.
