CCP has announced the implementation of the Trinity 1.0.3 Patch, which fixes an issue caused by the previous Trinity 1.0.2 Patch back in January.

Tranquility will undergo an extended downtime on Wednesday, 20 February. The start time is 11:00 GMT and the length of the downtime is expected to be three hours. During this time, a patch will be applied to Trinity consisting of one fix to correct the problems caused by the Trinity 1.0.2 patch.

I'm sorry, but this news report is totally incorrect.

The 1.02 patch was implemented 24 hours ago, not "in January".

It's probably somewhat academic, but there was some code patching done back in January, but that was not 1.0.2, but 1.0.2 used some of the code from then etc etc. See below.

"2/19/2008
Fix for error Incompatible (Protocol) after Trinity 1.0.2 Patch

Due to an unforeseen side-effect of the attempt at compiled code patching back in January it appears that the newly patched Trinity 1.0.2 client was still using the downloaded compiled.code from the hotfix in January, and thus the machonet version number did not match.

If you are getting the error "Incompatible (Protocol)" when trying to connect to Tranquility post Trinity 1.0.2 patch, it is because of this previous patch."

I wouldn't say MMORPG was being totally incorrect, though.
