Wish you were in the Age of Conan Beta? Think you haven't got a prayer?  Funcom thinks you do.  Funcom is running a contest where those who post the best beta prayers to the Hyborian gods could win access to the AoC beta.  Just remember, Crom doesn't love you.

Sometimes all you can do is pray to the gods and hope they listen. We at Funcom have heard your prayers to us, but it never hurts to have the gods on your side! Therefore, we have reserved a number of keys to the General Beta of Age of Conan for the best beta prayers to the Hyborian gods.

Anybody can enter this competition. The only thing you have to do is to post in THIS thread and write down your betaprayer to any of the Hyborian gods (Set, Crom, Derketo, Mitra, Ishtar, Erlik... doesn't matter which one you prefer). The funniest/best/most creative/outstanding entries will be rewarded with a key for the General Beta of Age of Conan. This competition ends on March 9th 2008 at 12:00 GMT so make sure you have posted your prayer until that time!

"But what about us veterans that are not yet in the Beta?" some of you might ask. Don't worry. We have put aside a certain number of betakeys for active long-time followers and will handpick those from our community on this forum. So a new round of veterans will be invited outside of this competition.

Read more here.

What a load of crap just make AoC open beta already. It is definately ready to enter open beta as they are close to release. I'm sick of companies that pull this kind of crap with all the people who want to get in but are not good enough under the devs eyes, bs.

Pray to the god's my a$$ more like pray that you get in and you still won't.

Companies that do this kind of silly sh!t will just tick off most people and they will look elsewhere.

It's simple, open beta or no beta at all with outside people, plain and simple you freakin TARDs.

I understand having an opinion, but why are posters in almost every forum I read so negative? And I mean nasty negative so often.  Is it because they are anonymous?

Sometimes I think that a lot of peoples true colors really come out on forums, because they can post anonymously with out fear of any real consequences.

I think what Funcom is doing sounds like a fun little marketing strategy. I would participate in it, but won't for my own reasons

It's fascinating to see how many people rant and rave and show much more of their true personality than they ever would/could in RL since they have to adhere to the rules of society and are not protected by being anonymous.

As to the Topic, it's a fun little idea. Too bad I was never too good at prayers in the first place. *snickers*

I am not good at this, but thought Id at least give it a try.

"O Crom, grim and gloomy god, ever watching from atop of yer mountain in dark clouds and obscuring mists, ready to pass a disapproving judgment on any and all. Before I die and you ask me the Riddle of Steel, will ye grant me one request? O Crom, let thy enter into the digital realm you have created for one last high adventure!"
