I recall seeing screen shots of Dark & Light and getting very excited. Even more so when I read the FAQ and feature list of the game. Then there was even a few in game videos of the terrain and view distances. I was already reaching for my wallet to grab the old credit card, but still past experience told me to wait and see.
The point I am trying to make is that a few screenshots is not proof of something being awesome, great or even something that is going to be released (see Gods & Heroes). It is nice to see darkfall finally stepping out of the closet after so long to touch base with reality, but it still has a very long way to go before it sheds the vaporware stigma is has.
Really, devs can post all they want on their webpages about how awesome their game is going to be, but a free screenshots and some words don't make that a reality. This also wouldn't be the first game were rabid fans have very thin skin dealing with naysayers about a game that is very questionable to say the least.
I love what the devs are hyping about this game, but so far that is all it is. The game honestly is sharing similar characteristics with other high profile games that aimed high and fell hard. I hope the game turns out well just so that there is more variety in the genre if nothing else. For me, maybe it brings back a little of the early Ultima Online magic from years ago. |

Hell was build for heroes. |
They give us plenty of information about gameprogress, but for those who don't care if its release or not don't go and read every news that has been published. So they only look at the vids and draw their conclusion from it. We have 850 screens and a few videos, Many of the screens and vids have dev-comments behind telling us wich progress that have been done. But you trolls are not the only one who whants more information, 50k others at the official forum whants it to. But we know how the devs works and they have told us why they do like they do. And we trust their words when we read it in devchats, interviews and common newsupdates. Wich you don't. With the lack of trust I can't even see why some people even are here. More then create trollthreads. This has been stated many times; But the game itself has not been in acctually development since 2001. 2003 they moved to greece and by 2004 they had a staff covering most areas. And why can't a game be in development longer than others?. |

Originally posted by Aragon100 Thank you for informing me, but I would like to point out that I am actually supportive of darkfall, and I very much would like it to be released. When I mentioned that they were a weird company, I am referring to the stuff I've read about their military connections, some contradictory stuff they've said, etc etc. |

50k others at the official forum whants it to. It's reality check time again. It took them all of 7 full years to get 50,000 people registered on those boards. How many of those do you think are even around anymore or care? MAYBE 50%? So you can go ahead and cut that number down to 25k. And it's probably even less than that. Compare that to games like conan and Warhammer that both have over 500,000 people signed up just for testing. |
