The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander.

Housing require a LOT of work to implement, especially if you want to do something nice.

I am not against or for housing, I just say that such a feature requires a LOT of work, programmers would have to code a LOT to make sure housing works properly (more than for a specific server ruleset), artists get the big chunk of the work, designers have to consider a few things and think carefully about it.

I rather see a PvE-grouping focused server than more housing options...but more of everything would always be cool. :P

I do not suspect that WAR will ever impliment housing.  Although I do think that a guild house could be something that will be worked into the game with a later patch.  Not to compare WAR to WoW because I hate doing that, but I think WoW will eventually impliment a guild house patch and I see WAR doing the same.

I am disappointed there is no housing as well.  If AoC had housing I'd be settling on it instead, but it doesn't have it either.

Guilds build cities and battlekeeps, beats the hell outta Guild Halls and houses in my opinion.

WAR should let guilds build battlekeeps and towers like AoC will. That is a bit closer to fitting the storyline and theme, right?

Been there, done that. It's called Shadowbane, and it came out 4 or 5 years ago. Owning a city sounds great, until you realize that you have to farm constantly for materials to build and upkeep, and get up at 3am to defend it against the zerg.

The open RVR Area has Keeps that the factions can fight over as a Realm because this is a Realm vs Realm game not Guild Wars.   Guilds How ever are the only ones that can hang banners for their hard work to claim it, but any one of your faction can enter freely and battle to keep out the hordes of the enemy since owning a keep benefits your entire faction not just you.

While I think they'll have some great guild stuff for those hardworking chumps..er peeps.... the game is based & focused on Realm participation & pride not guilds.   Meaning Guilds won't be controlling the world thankfully.   I don't understand why people are so fascinated with being under a person's thumb.  Hell you can get screwed over by that one person if they decide to quit and take everything with them.

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”

I dunno, this is still an MMORPG. I love PvP, but I don't mind spending an evening off the battlefield, decorating a house or something like that. If I wanted non-stop action everytime I log on, I'd play Team Fortress 2 or something like that. With an MMORPG, I expect something different.

Why So Serious?

They have exploration & easter egg quests, regular pve quests, crafting, and tons and tons of stuff you can do with your Tome of Knowledge book.  There's plenty of 'down time' stuff to do that doesn't involve playing House.   I'm just not into playing Virtual Life ... its why I'm interested in WAR its got the aspects of PvE games that I like and PvP that I can actually get into that isn't a crap gear grind.   And it has none of the fluff that causes more problems than its worth.  Your supposed to build Realm & community kinda hard to do taht if everyone spends their time shacked up in a house.

You never played Daoc did you?

No sadly never gave that game a go.

Housing CAN be a big deal and just going off like that without understanding any of the reasons of the people who are against it is as dumb as you are trying to make it out to be.

Im sorry what i meant by that commet (about not commenting on it)  was talking to people who say " hosing is gay go pvp"

Housing in Daoc pretty much killed off the main cities + the crafter community. Housing CAN definately be a bad thing!

I agree but then that is down to implementation id definitly be against the likes of crafting

in houses ! Or even selling stuff from your house it just detracts from the presence of a community in online games when everyone is off in there ow little instanced house.

and that is after all a fire hazzard :p

Naturally it all depends on implementation but just saying more is always better is ignorant at best in this case.

thats your point of view. each to there own and i didnt say more was always better i said having

diffrent options is better having more to do than pve and pvp isnt a bad thing.

Seeing that the housing implementation that has me holding a firm *no* to housing in most games actually comes from the developer that gave me that feeling to begin with the past issues are highly relevant in this case, at least for people who have seen it.

Totally agree. Housing is cool in many ways but it can also be a detrement. As far as the battlekeeps idea i have expressed my feelings on that in the AOC forums and can sum it up quickly. This is my opinion of course. Guild vs Guild games almost always tend to have 1 maybe 2 guilds owning a server. No thanks. If you think in WAR 1 side might have a little more population then the other well it can t really be helped but when 1 guild literally owns the server it gets annoying and boring fast. Been there done that in Shadowbane. The way WAR is doing rvr is as close to fair as i ve seen and besides if you own a keep in AOC the sense of suprise isn t there either, the guild sets a pre determined time when enemies can attack. I know why they did this but ugh wheres the sense of suprise and ok lost the keep because we weren t prepared lets go get it back now. Instead you wait your turn sorta:( Anyways housing really serves no purpose in WAR at all to me.

Hope they'll implement it at a later point.

What made you think there might be housing?  Do they have something on their website showing this?
