Sorry to burst you bubble , but LotRO had over 1 million beta applications in US alone . That was not including Europe .

Your post got me laughing quite hard when you mentioned that War had the best pvp team.  You obviously have not played DAoC enough to realize the joke is on you. 

Pvp in DAoC is an unbalanced nightmare, they forgot one thing about pvp, if you grant abilities you need to also provide counters to those abilities to even them out.  You also must balance classes, which Mythic has never come close to achieving.  Mythic also never listens to the playerbase, hence the ghost town their game is right now.

Hopefully they will have got the message by the time War comes out, but I don't hold out high hopes. 

I just don't see any of these new games being more than a niche market.  As boring as Wow is, it will still dominate these games. 

Someday, someone will dethrone Wow, but it won't be this year for sure.

Who said we wanted to dethrone WoW? Also, for the few people around here that bash DAoC PvP, there are tons of people, like myself, who loved DAoC PvP. I mean, you personally could love WoW pvp and think they have a great system, I disagree. Calling this a "niche" game is just plain dumb though.

The only game that would dethrone WoW would be a clone of WoW that was better in some way because that's clearly what the WoW players want. That said, if I don't like WoW, why would I like it's successor?

Solareus I tried to find the number for Lotro beta applicants for closed beta, and came up with nothing. Now, I was in the closed beta for over a year and I have stated multiple times on this forum that I along with only one other active user here, was in the first batch of 35 non-family testers invited to play it. Please do not give me open beta numbers because at that point people are just trying to play the game as free play before launch. I can almost all but promise that when WAR goes into an Open Beta it will be around 1 million as well, but they are currently sitting at over 600k closed beta applicants and there is no release date in sight.

Wow will be beaten once a new good game comes out. Nobody has to focus on dethroning, they just need to make a seriously good game with low PC requirements and we'll be set.

As is, WAR might hit that, but AOC won't. TCos....ehhh, skeptical.

And darkfall as someone said, wasn't that the game that's been promised about as long as duke nukem forever?
