Age of Conan

Lets have a purely hypothetical discussion. Lets say open beta is here, you log in and discover the following things.

Lets say, that the vast majority of the enviorments in age of conan were narrow valleys with invisible walls on each side, where the terrain is randomly generated and npcs randomly placed, would you still pre-order it?

Lets say that youre greeted by a seemingly neverending loading screen(even though you have an high end computer) at frequent intervalls, making it feel like guild wars 1.5, would you still pre-order it?

Lets say that even on an extremely beefy rig, you had to turn down the graphics so low that it looks more like anarchy online then what you have seen in screenshots and videos, would you still pre-order it?

Lets say that sieges became bland and repetitive, not to mention seemingly pointless after a few go's, would you still pre-order it?

What would make you cancel your pre-order?

It is already ruined for me from due to invisible walls.

Lets say I already have and know all that, and never pre-ordered!

Depends. If its fun to play the narrow valley. Your description is rather vague. Some walls are annoying, others not.

I dont care about it. Played monkey island, comming on six floppy discs. The game was and is still awesome. I also have enough tech. knowledge to know whats doable and what not.

Monkey island was made of pixel graphics. It ruled and still rules. And i am not scared at all with a 4600EE x2 and a 1900GT. I am a genius when it comes to configure a game. Little bit less shadow here, a bit less distance there.. voila decent FPS.

Pointless ? Like in MMO's are pointless ? Its a game :D

 

What would make you cancel your pre-order?

 Nothing. I never pre-order. My first and last pre-order was WoW because i bought the hype of my friends.  I ll just buy AoC and i am quite sure i ll have fun for 6 months at least :)

That many players are hateing it in beta and say it is not ready to launch. and thay need to push it back to give players half the stuff they said they would have in game. or if some one said this is the next Vanguard 2.0

  Pre-order?  Who would actually be silly enough to pre-order a MMORPG?  Having been burnt on more than one occasion excludes me from such silliness.  For those that havn't learned that lesson yet.....sigh.....*shakes head and walks away.

Why would you pre-order in the first place?

Best wait for a trial before committing yourself to anything.

So the beta testers want to keep playing for free. Is that the real problem here? Will Funcom, or any other dev in the biz, actually make beta testers happy enough to make a deadline?

You really want the beta to run another 3 years?

so this game really sucks?
