Age of Conan

Not being a tester, like alot of us I have to base my opinion on what I have read and seen (via video) I am not 100% sure if this video was uploaded on the 7th or the 3 parts were compiled and then re uploaded but either way it is a new one to me. So far, I gotta say things are looking impressive. I realize there are alot of haters on this forum that may or may not have tested and want to post they're hack opinions but I for one will judge the game for myself. I mean thats what we should all do right?

This does look very nice... the animations appear convincing, the graphics come across well even on a youtube. More realistic than WoW, but still comic-like enough to avoid the uncanny valley.

I love that the healers have to position themsleves to heal with a cone, making them much more interesting.

I like it that everyone can stealth.

I am still missing, however, any real sense of a caster's gameplay... have never seen spellweaving etc.

Overall, I think this could be a pretty fun game as long as I abandon my dreams of a vast world to explore, and accept something in between Lotro and DDO.

Truth is I really enjoyed myself in ddo as long as it lasted... in fact, I still think the combat in that game was the best of any mmo i have played yet - but obviously I missed the presence of a large living world, and a lack of content, which made me give up once my guild had finished the dragon. (sigh... will any spell ever be as fun as otto's irresistable dance I wonder...)

It was new footage to me and I have to say it was fun to see that all of the characters looked awesome in their own way. I don't know if they were at max level but I assume they were not. So this would mean it's different from for example WoW where you continue to look crappy until max level. From what I've seen from AoC footage you start to look good as soon as you get your first loot on Tortage Beach. I for one really like that, but I can imagine it would take away some leveling motivation i.e. leveling up to get good looking gear and look special.

Ah...not really.

It was actually released in seperate parts then the OP combined all 3 into one and was a very nice vid. AoC looks to be coming along very nicely.
