Playing :EvE,WAR BETA

waiting for: AION, TCOSB,WAR

i find it ironic how some people complain at the lack of solo content in an mmorpg...i mean the hole point of an mmo is to play with others. so why then why are there people who just want to play on there own. why dont they just play a normal rpg. it will be allot cheaper.

Because I don't feel like catering to other players whims at all times. I like to enjoy the scenery, read the quests and story, not just click and run to keep up with the "team". I also don't feel like sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting for a spot to open up on a team.

My use for other players comes from the economy, selling, crafting, bartering. I also like to see all the different players running around with their different setups, armor, etc.

An mmorpg is supposed to be a world. In the real world, do you do everything with someone else? Do you put off going to the store until someone else is available to go with you?

I also team from time to time, but it's at my leisure, not someone else.

Goozex.com Try it, you'll like it.

Don't have sigs with a cheerleaders butt swinging in it, or the prudes in the Age of Conan forum section of mmorpg.com will demand the mods have it removed.

Well, that sums it up.

Indeed zorvan hit the nail on the head,Just because it is a MMo doesnt mean alot of players dont  like to have some time to themselves also,Maybe they have time restriction's or indeed maybe they cant be bothered pleasing an entire group that evenning.

Everyone has their own degrees when it comes to how much they want to interact with other players. Judging solo vs. group content is judging only one system common to MMOs. Things like auctioning are another system, so you could similarly judge players who buy from NPCs rather than buy from auction houses. Or those who leave chat channels; minor but along the same line of thought.

It's all subject to preference and mood. Obviously the benefits of "solo content" is the ability to economize time and control experiences better, while the benefits of grouping or otherwise sharing experiences are the social aspects of it all.

It's not really a versus situation to me, so again, players will experience the benefits of both to whatever degree they want. Obviously if they're playing an MMO, there's some aspects of having other players around that they like, even if its as simple as seeing other people on the screen.

Good question and I have the answer.

A game should be fun, all of the time.  For many people CoX is only fun when you are grouped.  Grouping is getting harder as the game gets older.

Now I can street hunt and wait for a group, but if I don’t find that as fun, I am compromising my enjoyment just because of the lack of players.

You should never have to compromise your enjoyment in a game.

that is true. but as long as you join a good guild/clan you should have no problem finding people to play with

The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander.

If you are married, and that your sweety half refuse to have sex for a week, do you go harassing him/her about what is the point of been married?

Or do you make a happy-dance of love before you exit, leaving him/her alone as gently as could while trying to steal a smile?

See, having 2 bedrooms is IMO a very good idea, that way even been allowed to sleep with your sweety half is something you have to deserve, not something granted by default.  Love and friendship cannot be commanded.  You don't catch a birdy.  (It can be "easy" to deserve it...)

Sometimes you dont have time for group quests, maybe you only have maybe an hour,so if you cant put say 2 hours into the game you cant play?not much fun there for people with jobs etc, everyone should still be able to enjoy a MMo without having to devout there day to it.
