Am I the only one worried about Age of Conan being a game that was designed to play with an X360 controller? Im just worried that the game is going to look and feel like a console game with limited customization of options and linear gameplay. Seems like your gonna play single player to level up and PvP/group content in the multiplayer mode.

This is all speculation as I haven't really researched and would like someone to point me in the right direction.

...it wasn't deigned for the Xbox controller.  thats the Xbox version and that comes out next year, well after the PC version has hit the streets

Clench all you want, it''s still going in.

plus the console version isn't even in development yet, so it's not like we're getting a cheap port.

So have they said they will not limit the content and customization that will be available to the PC user, based on limitations the X360 has compared to a PC enviroment? Or am I just worrying to much lol?

You have nothing to worry about mate.  I've been playing MMOs and MUDs for ever.  The XBox360 control is nothing more than a glorified mouse.  Don't be scared of it and I recommend playing with it form time to time.  That way if your PC can't handle AoC, you can still enjoy the game on the XBox360 when that rolls out and will already be used to it.   When I feel like farming money in WoW, I'll kick my feet up and use my controller.  Only time I touch my keyboard is if someone is talking to me on Vent because I use the push to talk option.

why do ppl get all flustered over it being on a console too? all that mean is that more ppl can play it. the control is just a diffrent way to use it like for movement and probly attacking in this game. generaly ul still probly hafta use a keyboard. i swear the next person who say "OMG were gunna have graphic limits cause its on a console" i will punch in the taint. the consoles are basicly as good as 90% of the PC configs ppl have. it may not be the most elite cause the parts dont go to waste every 6 months (i hate that w/ pc's) and anyway the PC ppl who have the insane 3k$ rig can always jack up the grapics to make it look better.

How are you supposed to communicate with other people in-game with just a controller?

I know you have a mic on the 360, but that means you could only play with other 360 players and not PC players? also, wouldn't towns be crazy with everyone talking at once?

Any guild usually requires voice comms in game.  It shouldn't be a problem at all.

Besides, I'm very shocked that DDO, LOTRO, and WoW all have ingame voice but AoC doesn't?  Voice doesn't cause lag issues for those games, so I don't see why AoC skipped voice comm.  Oh well, their design decision, but one that takes a step back if you ask me.

I remember when ES:Oblivion came out. It came out first on the pc but a lot of the interface was watered down to accomodate the 360 version and its limitations that would be coming out after. Luckily there were some user mods that were eventually developed to address some of the biggest problems.

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.
