I'll probably wait. Who knows what the client will be like on release?

Better than it is now, and the version I play is damn good.

But it's fine that people want to wait. Less people at launch day means less lag for those of us playing the game.

There will be buddy keys available for those who wish to try the actual game instead of a beta build as well.

And yet so many people say it s just as bad hmm who to believe

I play in the closed beta and i can talk about lvl 1 to 13  and its is way better on this build you dont have to trust me but stop being a doom sayer and what people are you taliking about that have played  the closed beta clint.

Quoted for TRUTH

I am really tired of people complaining about their performance using the debug client of the game.. GET A CLUEEEE PEOPLE the live version of the game will not have anywere near as much problems that the debug client has

You guys complain about how funcom is letting people see the game but didn't put their best client out there for people to play on... guess what.. you just helped them debug the game and thats all you are there for.  Time and time again people explain to not base the retail game off of beta experiences yet over and over again the dumbest people come out of the woodwork. You want to wait? Ok, but when this is all over and you realize you jumped the gun simply because you expected the beta to be a trial of the game and not an actual beta.. well SUPRISE. No one tricked you.. you were told it was a beta and you still tried to squeeze the possibility of this being the retail client.

Your forgetting that this Open Beta is really a Marketing BETA.

If it is then why not use the closed beta build . that I know is way better then the  open beta . they wanted to do some things and this is the way Fun com went nuff said.

That is the question everyone wants to know. Because in a recent article the developer said it was a marketing decision to go with fileplanet, so why did they use this build when the closed beta build is so much better? There has to be a reason and Funcom should just come out and say why, to help silence all the rumors.

I dont know why but I am playing the closed beta and it is better. maybe they didnt want to waste time with open betas at all and just want to release a good game . I dont know, but what I do know is what I am playing and its fun with littel issuses now atleast the first 13 lvls.

I just cancelled my preorder. Not because of performance or bugs, but simply that the combat isn't deep as promised. Melee fighting is just 1,2,3 - 1,2,3. Using my abilities makes the fight take longer than just spreading attacks out and hitting across multiple targets. Not being able to time blocks and parries is annoying too, its WoW/EQ without auto-attacks or good spec trees. I also noticed that on low the only way to detect an incoming spell is to see the caster moving its hands, never had a fireball or damage effect happen, and died because a caster was off my screen. Just not innovative, intuitive or fun to me. If I could do my combos without having to activate them, it'd be a lot more fluid and fun. A lot of times using an ability causes the npc to shift shields to that abilities attack side before inputing the combo, making it a waste. Not to mention everyone has the same abilities up until level 4 or so. Needs a lot more concept work.

I really don't see how people can fully grasp the depth of the combat system when they havn't played past the tutorial.

And there's a setting you can adjust to turn the spell effects back on, you know.

It looks to me like you didn't have the patience to bother taking more than a cursory look at the game.

The system is designed to ease you into the complexity. Once you're off n00b Island, you'd be glad they took that approach.

"You''re not going crazy. You''re going sane in a crazy world!"

already pre-ordered and looking forward to it, and no you can't change my mind. i've come to a conclusion recently (mainly after having read alot of the bashing threads that come out for every single game over the past few years), you can't trust other gamers--especially ones on gaming forums (and yes i realize the irony). their views are often (if not always) skewed from their perspective, from their prejudices and from their desires. some just want to see every game but the one they're playing fail, some "test" games with systems far below specs or do not optimize the settings properly for their systems and complain that it's "unplayable", some are opposed to change and anything different is wrong--or vice versa everything is too much like something that's already out.

in short, finding an unbiased view of a new game on gaming forums is about as easy as finding a needle in a haystack, and as painless as cutting your toe off. i know what i like, and i know what interests me and excites me, and i'm assuming a lot of you do also--if it interests you enough to buy the game when it comes out, and you're willing to do that, then do it (i already have ), if not then wait and see.

This is exactly why I won't but the game (yet). I don't trust people on forums and I don't trust reviewers.. and I sure don't trust the hype made by the publisher.

But give me a proper open beta or a free trial and I might play your mmo for a long time (if it's good).

Read reviews first once its released, dont give them the benefit of the doubt; teach these devs that only once a finished product as been made will they get our money.

No I am not a Warhammer fanboy, I just am getting sick of games being released half finished.  Give it a week and see what you hear.

Try before you buy.

It is amazing  you actually need to argue in favour of this idea.

Then again that is why standard MMO these days gets to the shelf in beta stage.

It will get better, cannot judge game before the launch, give it three more months, MMO is never finished... Yadda - yadda - yadda, I won't to try it before I buy it becasue I might not like it even if it is a finished product. I certainlly will not pay for the game's development.

Agreed with second poster. 13 levels of game play is all you get in this open beta. How can you tell what your specs will actaully be like if you havent even actually experianced them working against an enemy? If you didn't like the first 2 days or first few  hours of game play just because of the combo system then thats fine Its your opinion. Just don't blast the game about shit you haven't even experianced yet, thats just plain ignorant.

BTW - the beta is laggy, buggy, and
