Final Fantasy XI

This is my opinion of all the MMOs ive played vs. FFXI. These are the ones that ive spent quite a bit of time playing.

Just some things to look at before you try those "other lolMMOs" :D

WoW: If your looking for everything handed to you on a silver platter. And love millions of screaming 14yr olds spamming Chuck Norris on your screen.

EVE online: If youve had trouble sleeping, this game will help you. If youlike doing the same thing over and over and over and over again that this is the one for you.

Guild Wars: If you want a maxed toon in less than a month this is it. (dont get me wrong, this ones pretty fun especially since its free.)

Everquest2: looking for a great place to find soulless looking charactors and nothing but leets. than this is the kit and kaboodle for you.

Lineage2: Looking for a player controlled economy with paranoid players everywhere you turn?

Starwars Galaxies: Do i even have to say anything?

Lord of the Rings: Looking for a WoW wannabe? Here ya go.

FFXI: Looking for a challenging game that you ACTUALLY have to work at? Or a game that focuses on skills rathar than gear? Or like to meet lots of wonderful people? Actually appreciate the things you accomplish? Do crazy quests and missions that can keep you at the edge of your seat? Play in a real breathing world where anything and everything can happen? Looking for the greatest MMO experience you will ever have? This is DEFINATLY the one for you :)

LOTRO is not really a WoW wannabe (let us drop this discussion right now before it hijacks the thread).  its very linear though but the story is quite interesting.  as for eve you forgot to mention the same thing over and over again...and it takes ages to do anything.  as for FFX1,  it was ok but i never really liked the other games so it could not hold my interest.  much like everquest 2,  great game its just the lore and gameplay did not really appeal to me.

I think you meant FFXI:

Looking for a game that tries to waste your time every chance it gets? Do you enjoy combat so slow you can afk through a fight and no one notices? Shout for a group for hours and hours for your missions and quests? Well then FFXI is definitely for you:)

Sorry to be negative but FFXI can be a fun game but most of the time playing is spent waiting for group for something and not actuallly doing much.

Whats funny is, your points are only valid if you cant find a group, and im going to assume that you sat on your ass and shouted in jeuno all day with an LFG flag on instead of actually trying to put one together.

I have to agree with you on almost all of your points. I too played all of those games you mentioned except LOTR online. I played galaxy when it first came game was not that good and just got worse and worse.

Lineage 2 i played that in beta and for a while afterwards then quit. Then i started again when they opened up a new server in EU to try and race my way to the top but of course bots beat me. That would have to be the only thing i have against that game to be honest lineage II was an awesome PvP game i dont think any can match it in that aspect. Also you might meet a lot of jerks in that game but if you got into a good clan they were like brothers.

I did enjoy guild wars it seemed like an easy version of WoW to me but it was free so i didnt care was a nice casual game when i only had time for casual.

As far as ffxi goes i love the game been playing off and on since NA pc release and currently i am on. I prolly will take a break again but will always return for some reason i just can't get enough of it. Grouping can be a pain but lately i have never seeked for more then 20 min or i just go do something else. Or i make a pt on occasion but xp partying is only one small part of this game. Reach 75 and it becomes something completely else but don't get me wrong you can do a ton before that. Loved how CoP was lvl capped made it challenging and i was able to get far without being 75. Dynamis, limbus, sky, salvage, assault, nyzul isle, campaign, besieged, HNMs what more can a guy want idk i loved them all. Haven't done many sea NMs yet but I will some day just need to get more people access in my ls.
