Well after roughly 3 days of dealing with failplanet I got a chance to play the not so open beta. I played the pvp weekend too and this seemed pretty similar. My overall impression...

Pros.

--Good graphics, If you have a top end machine the game looks amazing.

--Combat, I like the real time combat. It's still button mashing, but it's better than most MMO's

--Gameplay, The game seems pretty complete at least the 13lvls. I didn't see any broken quests or game breaking bugs.

Cons.

--Long load times and overinstanced. Do we really need a separate instance just for a few npc's?

--Performance. Low FPS I was down to single digits in the city. I'm on a lower end machine, but if I can't get playable fps even on low that's going to hurt the game. I'll wait for the retail client though.

--PvP class balance. No surprise for a new game.

If the rest of the game is as complete as the beta then I think the game will do fine with some performance tweaks. Alot of the complaining seems overstated from what I saw. If you have a decent pc and find the game is unplayable then you probably need to learn how to use a computer better and how to do things like update drivers ect. I never crashed or locked up or had any problems like that and I'm on a older machine. Still hard to tell how good the game is, but it looks good enough to try the retail version. I played vanguard pre and post release and this isn't vanguard. It's not the holy grail of games or anything, but it's more promising than the total shit that has been unleashed upon gamers this past year or so.
